Addon Suggestions/reviews for ESO
Must Have for Trials:
Minion- Desktop App that manages/updates and allows you to search for your Add-ons.
Ody Support Icons
Hodor’s Reflexes – with Ultimate Share turned ON – pretty much everything else can be turned off until you are a raid leader
Crutch Alerts OR Code’s Combat Alerts OR Raid Notifier
There are specific Add-ons for MOST but not all trials We’ll try to suggest the appropriate one in the sign-up message
┏ Asylum Sanctorium Status Panel
┠ Asylum Tracker
┠ HowToCloudrest
┠ HowToKyne and BSCs-HowToKynesAegis
┠ HowToSunspire
┠ Lucent Citadel or Lucent Citadel Helper
┠ Qcell’s Dreadsail Reef Helper
┠ Qcell’s Rockgrove Helper
┗ Sanity’s Edge Helper
The list below though not comprehensive is extensive and has many more possibilities than most people need, so I want to start with a short list of add-ons that I think are “essential”…all are optional but these are the ones that I think are most generally helpful.
NOR Guild Tools
Lights of Meridia
I’m Calling U
Combat Metrics
Ody Support Icons
Hodor’s Reflexes
Crutch Alerts
Raid Notifier
While completely optional, I’d suggest looking at the alternative User Interface addons. These allow much more customization and automazation of routine stuff like charging weapons, repairing equipment, using food buffs and exp scrolls, banking and vendor transactions. Alternatives are AUI, LUI and Azurah’s. I only have experience with Azurah’s and I can say that it makes it easy to move stuff around on the screen and set it up as you’d like.
Many of the functions of Personal Assistant are incorporated in the UI alternatives but again since I have it set up and working well, I don’t want to change until lack of support forces a change.
Addons that will make your life better (In game):
NOR guild tools- Many utilities written by Garadian to make our lives better- includes an in game timer (timemachine), Metronome (normetronome), /h to auto type the Hail Nor greeting, etc.
More Markers (Elms Markers is an older version that is not as well supported) – overlays positioning markers on the game screen allowing the raid leader to indicate where members/mobs should be positioned
Loot Log- tracks loot and has easy display and request functions
Addon Selector – allows you to configure addon “sets” for different functions/characters
The Shining – increases the opacity and density of AOE ground effects making them easier to see
Votan’s Mini Map – configurable mini map display
Lights of Meridia – creates a column of light over group members – very helpful in overland content but can be distracting in dungeons/trials
Advanced UI, LUI Extended- Different addons that provide complete UI
overhauls and allow extensive customization
I’m Calling U – Pings when you get a chat message so you are less likely to miss it
Inventory Insight – displays inventory and where it is located account wide- essential for multi-toon players
Dolgubon’s Lazy Writ Creator- makes daily drafting writs almost automatic
FancyActionBars+ Nice action bar display
Tamriel Trade Center- essential information for making gold at the guild store- requires a sys-tray program that queries an out of game database and gives access in-game
Urich’s Skill Point Finder – tracks and displays each character’s skill points, skyshards etc
Combat Metrics- essential to see your damager output, where it’s coming from and what you’re missing – this is more for practice (target dummy) than for use in content
Personal Assistant- automates many routine activities- completely customizable. Automates food buff, trash sales, repair, weapon charges, inventory control for almost all classes of loot, deconstruction, banking, etc.
