ESO Suggestions for Group Content
The opinions expressed below are mine and therefore not universal, however, I think that if you adhere to these guidelines you will be welcome in most groups and be more likely to be invited back.
If queuing for a Random group, make sure that you are marked with the appropriate role….ie, don’t que as a Tank unless you are spec’d and geared as one. Similarly for Healer. The ques are longer for DPS but you can que and continue questing while waiting your turn.
If you are in a scheduled group, show up early and be ready with the appropriate gear, skills and attributes equipped. Have a full Ultimate and make sure that your gear is repaired, weapons charged, and that you have appropriate food, potions and soul gems.
Have plenty of bag space so you don’t have to stop the group to sell/deconstruct stuff to make room for more loot.
Stay between the Tank and the Healer and try to stay close to the other DD’s. Solo players tend to develop “bad habits” like staying at Max distance and continually moving around. In a group, these habits will make you more, rather than less likely to die. The healer will be casting toward the tank and must stay in range of the tank….if you are at max range, the healer can’t get behind you and keep the tank healed. The non-directional healing spells aren’t nearly as powerful as the forward casting spells.
Tanks should do their best to face all mobs (particularly bosses) AWAY from the rest of the group.
Finally, keep up with the group. In general, follow the tank’s lead.
Ody Support Icons will automatically place markers (you can customize the size, color and style of the markers) over each party member so that you can quickly see where to be, who to follow and where the other party members are located.
Lights of Meridia makes it easier to see where group members are located especially in large open dungeons and Overland content.
