Welcome to Dragonslayer

This is the new update for Neverwinter. Here, we attempt to become professional Dragonslayer’s. They have carved out a little portion of Protector’s Enclave for us to become the best Dragonslayer. As you complete quests in the story line of the new update you will be awarded a few new items, like Elemental Strands and Dragon Ridges. I will discuss Elemental Strands a little bit down the line, but the Dragon Ridges helps you move along the campaign tracker below. You can earn up to 80 Ridges per week and to complete this you need 560 Ridges or 7 full weeks.

As well, as you complete these hunts to prove yourself a capable Dragonslayer you will also be completing the On the Wings of Dragons battle pass and earn even more fabulous items. You can only complete 1 hunt per day, but do not fret if you can not log every day cause you can stack up to 3 daily hunts. When you log back in you may be able to complete up to 3 hunts, but only if you did not log in for past 3 days. 3 is the maximum you can stack up, so if you want to complete this quest line you need to be logging in at a minimum every 3 days.

Hunting dragons are easy. You queue for them like the dungeons in the rest of the game. There are three different ages of dragons to hunt. Baby or young dragons are solo-able. Adults dragons require a party of 3. Ancient or “kill you as soon as they see you” dragons require a party of five. The difference in the dragon ages result in tougher and more challenging fights as well as the number of dragon parts you can earn.

Talking about dragon parts, they’re another reward for completing a hunt. You can earn dragon claws, horns, plates, scales, finger bones, and wing webbing which can be traded into Gurness Stormforge for new armor, rings, necklaces and belts. This will be a grind as young dragons and adult dragons drop very few parts. As of the time of this post I’m unsure of what the ancient dragon’s drop but assume is a step up from adults. So you will have to kill several dragons before you have enough to purchase a piece of the new armor. As an example, an unmodified young dragon drops 1 scale and an unmodified adult drops 9 scales. As you can see below you need quite a few dragon parts to buy a piece of armor.

Now you may have caught on I mentioned unmodified dragons. You can modify the hunts if they are not thrilling enough for you. By collecting those Elemental Strands from the quest and throughout the greater Faerun, you can purchase modifications which enhance the dragon and their minions while debuffing you and your party. The severity and what they can award is listed below.

Lastly what happens if you do not have enough of one type of elemental strands but you have a record buttload of another type, you can trade them for the unfair value of 400 to 100 with one of the vendors in the enclave. Please see the picture below.

Well adventurer, I hope this helps you prepare to become the best Dragonslayer of the Swordcoast that you can be. I understand it will be a grind but think how pretty you will look in the mighty dragonslayer armor.

Well off to the Gauntlgrym for a cold glass of Bruenor’s Best.
