Summer is here and I have a new feature published on the *NOR/ website for you enjoyment! Its a 30yr timeline of the guild’s milestones featuring Realm launches, closures, Officer promotions, High Council service dates and more:) Along with the overall timeline the realm archive pages has been redesigned and a mini realm specific timeline has been added as well.
Also on the website I have added some new posts about the roster pages, timeline, archive and organized them into a member category on the main site to help find information easier.
Hardcore SeasonVIII is in full swing, and players have just under one month to fulfill their goals to get to 1750 favor, level 20, 10 or 20 reaper points, and/or 7 or 13 dragon’s hoard items. Each of these accomplishments will grant players unique Hardcore server-only rewards. After the season is over, *NOR/bies can transfer their characters onto our home server of Ghallanda and have them ready to quest with the rest of the guild! The season ends on Tuesday, July 18th, so time is of the essence!
Happy summer, enjoy your questing, mind the traps, and see you in-game!
Yavool Ramnoth Lord and Branch Leader, *NOR/DDO – Ghallanda Server
As we reach the end of our third month as a guild in Final Fantasy XIV, I would like to thank everyone for all of our achievements since March 19th of 2023. It is great to see that we have such an active FC with members that play together and help each other out. We have met and exceeded our recruiting goals for the first three months, we have fully ranked up the guild, and we now have a guild Mansion which we can call home in one of the nicer district in the game.
To come, we will continue as we have and add more members to our guild as we come across great people in FFXIV. I look forward to experiencing new content patched with everyone and the next patch, date TBD will add 10 more levels to the Blue Mage job. This will give us plenty of opportunity to group up and complete goals together while having a lot of fun!
What else to expect? Since we have come along three months now, we will see a lot of fun rank promotions in the near future and some new members to help fit into the group and the guild overall. It’s a good opportunity to break in our new ceremony room which is currently under construction, but shall be done soon. We will also keep it in mind to start building up our DMG (Dungeon Master Group). More on this to come….
Let’s start with the biggest news out of the gate. EA is splitting properties into EA Sports and EA Entertainment. But wait you say, how does this impact swToR? Oh gentle reader let me regale you with the tale.
Bioware (developer of SWTOR) is being realigned to focus more on their single player titles like Dragon Age and Mass Effect. That is having the effect of trickling down to swToR as an MMO property that now needs to be moved to somewhere that will be able to help direct the flow of swToR. But wait you say, does that mean the game is being retired? Well, at first glance one would say yes, but if we consider really closely the direction of the game and the latest advances (like being upgraded to 64 bit, and the announcement recently that the game is going to be upgraded to Direct X 12. EA is looking for an independent company to manage swToR and rumor has it that Broadsword Online Gaming is being looked at to take over management. Currently it is looking like the majority of the swToR team will be migrating to the new company as well. For those that do not know, Broadsword currently maintains Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot.
With all of that said, 2 updates have dropped since last month. Update 7.3 old wounds with new story content “Old Wounds”, and new flashpoint “Shrine of Silence”, a new explorable area on the planet Voss, gearing simplifications, PVP season 3 is in the works and the return of Nar Shaddaa nightlife to please all the scoundrels. Many bug fixes happened in this patch to include come corrections with colorblind mode and currency changes. Update 7.3b dropped on June 21, and has some bug fixes and changes to taxes to help battle in-game inflation.
The road for SWTOR is sure to be interesting over the next few months as the shake up at EA continues, but the *NOR/ guild is still as strong as always. We raid regularly and keep up to date on what is happening. We will be having an upcoming scoundrel event happening within the next couple of months. If you ever wanted to play as Han Solo, Qi’ra or Lando Calrissian, then there has never been a better time to try. Friendly shenanigans are bound to happen between guild leaders and guildies are all welcome to join in the fun!!
