Each Tier 1 Class costs 1,000 Class Tokens to unlock. These can be earned for free by doing the appropriate Class Trainer Daily Quests.
Caution: Choose wisely, because you can only do one of these Class Trainer Daily Quests per day.

If you do not have Guardian unlocked through purchase, you can do only one of the Class Daily Quests, the main one which pays 145 Class Tokens. This quest resets at midnight EST each day.

If you do indeed have Guardian unlocked, there is an NPC in the Guardian Tower (screenshot attached) that you can quest for once per day (resets at midnight EST), who will pay 25 Guardian Tokens. This is the currency needed to complete the secondary Class Daily Quest on the applicable Trainer, which will give you 55 Class Specific Tokens in exchange for 20 of the Guardian Tokens you just earned.

In short, it can take 5-7 days to unlock a Tier 1 class, depending on if you have Guardian unlocked or not. You can also bypass this and pay cash/credit for Dragon Crystals, but where is the fun in that?
