Elder Scrolls Online: Imperial City/Sewers Guide

New OutRiders: Imperial City & Sewers Guide

Overview

Imperial City and its underground Sewers offer a unique mix of PvP and PvE combat, making them an exciting battlefield for guild events. Unlike Cyrodiil, fights take place in a confined urban battle zone where players battle enemy factions while also fighting powerful Daedra for valuable Tel Var Stones.

To maintain balance and ensure competitive fights, the event may utilize the Mercenary Squad System. This allows players with alts in multiple factions to temporarily fight for the weaker side, ensuring no single faction dominates unfairly.

Event Details

  • Format: Open-world PvP & PvE battles in Imperial City and Sewers.
  • Faction Rules: Players commit to a faction for the night.
  • Objective: Capture districts, fight enemy players, farm Tel Var Stones.

How Imperial City Works

Imperial City is divided into six districts, each controlled by a faction at any given time. PvP fights often break out in these zones as alliances struggle to maintain dominance. Additionally, powerful Daedric enemies roam these areas, offering PvE encounters alongside PvP battles.

How the Sewers Work

Imperial Sewers are an underground network filled with powerful Daedric bosses, roaming enemy NPCs, and enemy players attempting to farm Tel Var Stones. **The deeper you go, the more dangerous it gets**, but also the greater the rewards.

Mercenary Squad System

To prevent faction imbalances and ensure competitive fights, the guild uses a Mercenary Squad System:

  • Before entering Imperial City, officers assess faction numbers and decide if balancing is needed.
  • Players with alts in different factions can volunteer to fight for the weaker side to keep PvP encounters fair.
  • Unlike Cyrodiil, faction swaps may occur mid-event if one alliance is overwhelming the others.
  • If one faction dominates in surface control, mercenaries may focus on supporting the weaker side in the Sewers.
  • Optional guild incentives (gold, Tel Var pooling, or crafting materials) may be offered to mercenaries who help maintain balance.
  • Mercenary players must bank their Tel Var Stones strategically to avoid unnecessary losses.

Example Scenario:

  • Problem: The guild enters Imperial City and realizes Ebonheart Pact has significantly more players than the other factions.
  • Solution: Officers ask Aldmeri Dominion or Daggerfall Covenant players (who have EP alts) if they’d be willing to swap temporarily.
  • Outcome: PvP fights become more competitive, ensuring an engaging experience rather than one-sided domination.

How to Participate

  1. Join the guild group in your chosen faction’s alliance.
  2. Enter Imperial City via the Cyrodiil campaign selection.
  3. Choose between fighting in the surface Districts or venturing into the Sewers.
  4. Battle enemy players while collecting Tel Var Stones from Daedric enemies.
  5. Regroup after major fights to bank Tel Var Stones safely.
  6. Continue engaging in battles and district captures.

Rules & Etiquette

  • Respect fellow guild members—team coordination is vital.
  • Avoid unnecessary risk—bank your Tel Var Stones when possible.
  • Work together to eliminate both enemy players and Daedric bosses.
  • Voice chat is used for quick callouts and tactical adjustments.

Officer Guidelines

  • Monitor faction balance—adjust participation if necessary.
  • Determine if the group will focus on District control or Sewers farming.
  • Keep track of Tel Var Stone banking periods to minimize losses.
  • Organize fights against powerful Sewers bosses.
  • Implement Mercenary Squad adjustments as needed to maintain balance.
