Hail*NOR/everyone!

What a bustling year this has become for the guild, so much is happening and its amazing to see! First off Count Garadian has took off sprinting in our newest realm, Final Fantasy XIV. The game may have some years on it, but it has not slowed the activities! Only a month old and Count Garadian has almost 40 players attending weekly hosted events and regularly grouping in Discord and Game. Definitely stop by the realm and check things out!

For those looking for one night events, Marquis Talolan and Champion Stelmarii have been hosting “Among Us” events and a new browser game called “King of the Castle” the next event is just around the corner, Saturday May 6th, its a free web-browser game, reserve your spot to learn and play in the Discord NOMAD Channel!

The website’s Online Roster is back up and running! Search for your name to check out your personal history with the guild or check out the Realm Rosters to find friends of days gone! Also the archive of old realms has slowly been entered into the online roster, of recent note: Neverwinter Nights, Dark Age of Camelot, Ultima Online, Asheron’s Call, Empiriana, Dark Sun Online, Runes of Magic, have all been added. “The Realm” should be done by the next newsletter…and its a big one, hundreds of history records in that realm:) The archive can be spotty with rosters, so if you see something missing on your history, or if your an old officer with a stock pile of files in your email from 30ys ago, then reach out to Lord Tundrra and we will see what we can get fixed!

Thank you so much for being here with us and DOUBLE thanks to the officers who keep the guild growing and fun to be in for all these many years!

    Hail*NOR/

The R4 anomaly has finally succumb to our power!! Lady Dominique was one of the toughest bosses in a long time, and now that she has been defeated, we have gone back to our normal progression rotation. Many rare items have been obtained recently. New faces have been added and we embarked on Galactic Season Passage of Peace with a new companion Amity.

PVP season 2 has also begun, new Mandalorian Armors have been introduced, and there has been a weeknight grouping for PVP. Let’s face it, everything is more fun in a group of friends, and PVP is no exception. Our wonderful leader Intisar has organized group activities for achievements and progression through the season objective including everyone’s favorite activity Sporks (aka spoils of war.)

Continued improvements have been rolled out in the game. The 64 bit client is in full swing. This has generally been regarded as a good thing by many.

The new season rewards include the Moon Pilgrim armor and Armored Messenger Robe. For PVP there are 2 amazing looking armors for those who are fans of the Samurai armor yoroi, the Shadowhand and Shadowveil Warrior’s sets.

Hail*NOR/Greetings from FFXIV, fellow adventurers of The New OutRiders!

I am delighted to share some exciting news and updates with you in this, our first newsletter for the Final Fantasy XIV branch of NOR.

First of all, I would like to congratulate Chazore Allure and Jaylx Gains on attaining the rank of Baron. This is a great achievement and a testament to your dedication and leadership. Well done, you two!

I would also like to congratulate our new Knights and Huzzah! to all of the new Squires who have completed their evaluation period as Recruits and proven themselves to be valuable members. You are the backbone of our guild and we are proud to have you among us. Welcome to the family!

To our newest Recruits, I would like to say that you have made a solid choice in joining our guild. You will find a friendly and supportive community with us, as well as plenty of opportunities to grow and have fun. I look forward to each and every one of your official inductions into the guild as new Squires very, very soon.

As you may have noticed, we are up to three events each week now, being on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm EST, and Sundays at 4pm EST. These events are a great way to bond with your fellow guildmates, earn rewards, and experience the wonders of Eorzea. I encourage all of you to join us whenever you can and enjoy this adventure together.

Aside from these events, I also find it of high import that we group together as needed to help each other and to have fun outside of these events and to get to know each other better. I have noticed that this indeed has been the case so far and it only makes us stronger!

We will also be eligible to begin the attempt to secure guild housing starting on April 19 (With a very large thank you to NOR Cally for his substantial donation to the guild coffer to assist in this endeavor). This will be a major milestone for our guild and will allow us to have a place to call home and headquarters, as well as access to various benefits and features. Let us hope the housing lottery is in our favour.

Last but not least, I am happy to announce that we are having a very successful first month as a new Free Company on Adamantoise per the server-wide rankings (We ranked 19th on Adamantoise out of over 6,400 guilds in the monthly rankings after only two weeks of forming up) and have almost maxxed our Free Company’s rank in mere weeks.

I would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work and play, dedication to building this branch from the ground up, and especially for their presence, as it makes the guild a fun and friendly place to be for all of us.

Until next time then, I leave you with this verse…

A good NOR member is loyal and kind,
We ever shall keep our NOR guildmates in mind.

We help where we can and we ask when we need,
We follow the Charter and we live by the Creed.

A good NOR member is friendly and fun,
We make every game Realm a much better one.

We cheer when we win and we laugh when we lose,
We share our own stories and respect others’ views.

A good NOR member is a part of the team,
That all work together to realize our dream.

Upon one another we trust and depend,
We are more than NOR members; We are also NOR friends!

    Hail *NOR/,

    Hail *NOR/!

Behold the Daedalean Kraken, the flagship of *NOR/DDO’s branch on Ghallanda! This massive guild ship consists of four floors and a cargo hold, each filled with wonders from all over the continent of Xen’drik.  Please join me for a tour of our guild ship’s holdings.

On the first lower deck is the Cannith Crafting Hall, where characters can create from scratch any piece of worn or wielded equipment imaginable for any level; the Proving Grounds, where Aravandi Rivitfingers, the repair vendor resides and grants users of his repair services nearly-flawless item repairs; Three-fingered Thad’s, the general vendor; the Banquet Hall, where guild members can bind their character to the ship in case of death; the Shrine of Experience, which grants those who meditate at the shrine a static percentage XP bonus to each completed quest; Bash the Breakables Cargo Bay, where characters can test their attack speed; Sellswords’ Tavern, with the greatest discount hirelings available in Stormreach; the Orien Express, where characters can access bank, mail, and auction services all in one place; the Guild Vault, which offers a modest assortment of crafting item blanks and scroll for wizards to learn and add to their spellbooks; and the Farshifter’s Chamber, where characters can teleport all over Stormreach and beyond.

On the second lower deck is the Green Steel Crafting Hall, where characters can combine their accrued crafting reagents from questing in the realm of Meridia to make unparalleled powerful items and weapons; the Collegium of the Twelve, where characters can purchase spell reagents and other magical items at a deep discount; the Tactical Training Room, which provides a place for characters to assess their DPS; the Ninja Assassin, where players can target practice with shurikens; the Fencing Master, where characters can assess their finesse weapons; the Game Hunter, a hangout for hunters and druids, alike; the Arcane Sanctum, which provides a second location for reagent and potion purchases; the Archwizard, where the mystical arcane arts lie dormant; the Shrine of the Silver Flame, which provides solace for those repenting from their past transgressions; and the Black Abbot’s Shadow, where those who have passed can be remembered within the ship’s graveyard.

On the third lower deck resides the Bath House, where characters can take a brief respite from their adventures and soothe their aching muscles; Otto’s Irresistable Dance Hall, where characters can bust out their trademark dance moves on a rune-style discotheque floor; the Concert Hall, where bards and enthusiasts alike can enjoy the enchanting melodies put forth; the Paradoxical Puzzle Box, where characters can reflect on their deepest existential questions; the Chronoscope, where characters can return to the moment in which the City of Stormreach changed forever; the Armory, where Aravandi spends his time when not at the Proving Grounds; and the Stormreaver Memorial, which pays homage to the revered yet feared Stormreaver.

On the fourth lower deck lies the Grand Reliquary, where the raw elemental forces have been captured; the Danger Room, which will instantly kill any character who steps in past Tweet the Parrot (seriously, so make sure you’ve bound on the ship first before trying it, and never walk into this room when on the Hardcore server!); the Forbidden Library, with its mysteries hiding behind the shadowy tapestries on the walls; the Hag Apothecary, where the hag that resides within will tempt you with their newest brewed concoction; and Old Sully’s Grog Cellar, which may provide characters with spirits that are much more appealing than what the hag offered.

In the Cargo Hold lies a social space for guild members to converse, engage in commerce, and reconsider their spell selection. It offers characters various ways to craft, receive vintage buffs, and teleport across Xen’drik; or characters can stay on the ship and practice their attacks, sort their bank items, purchase regenerative potions and oils, and play the auction house.

Finally, on the top deck, every individual room’s unique buff can be granted to a character all in one fell swoop when they pull the “get buffs” lever. By doing so, they are granted four and a half hours of in-quest time with all of the perks that visiting each room would provide.

The *NOR/DDO branch has worked hard over the past nine years since guild ships were released to get to guild level 105. If you ever wish to help us gain additional levels, enjoy the benefits of the guild ship buffs, or just immerse yourself and your character in the unique experience of each room, feel free to join us whenever you wish! You can gain access to the guild ship by being a tagged member of the New OutRiders in-game, and then on your map (M by default) search for the anchor symbol in whatever region you are at in Stormreach. Note that you cannot access the guild ship when on Korthos Village, but as soon as you leave Korthos by speaking to Valeria Sinderwind, you can access the guild ship in the Stormreach Harbor (if you are at “snowy” Korthos Village and leave the Village via Valeria, you cannot return to “snowy” Korthos, and will instead be sent to “sunny” Korthos, which will hinder you from being able to group up with others on “snowy” Korthos).

There’s so much to enjoy in DDO; come join the fun, and see you in-game!

    Yavool Ramnoth
Lord and Branch Leader, *NOR/DDO – Ghallanda Server
