Well my visit to this fabled land has been curtailed. It seems that once the game locks up and you exit out ungracefully, you have doomed yourself to the pits of despair!!! errr wait, that is another movie. Anywho....I can't get into it any longer. I get stuck on the main screen right after I give my 6 digit super secret alpha secure password and it just says "Dialing". Boy this DOES bring back the memories. All it needs is the familiar multi-tone whine of the modem and I would sure be in a trance from yesteryear.

The server may just be down. It has been for long stretches at a time. Like ... all of September ...

Gave it a try - I like the feel of these old maze games, but can't get more than a few fights into things before running out of HP and dying. Not really sure how you're supposed to make progress here. Makes me thing I'm missing somehting fundamental, like a way to rest and recover.

There's yet another revival going - looks like they did a complete overhaul of the code to work on modern computers. Been active about 10 days now I believe. If anyone wants to check it out:

The Shadow of Yserbius

• You have to create an account, no email or anything, just username and password
• The default setting for the window was quite small on my computer, but you can adjust to size under Options > Windowed Scale
• If you want to wear your NOR jacket, convention is as follows: Asterisk>NOR>` (tilde or grave key, to the left of the 1) for the sword, followed by your rank, ie., SQ, BN, LD, etc.
