New OutRiders CCG League

Hello,

We are recruiting for the New OutRiders CCG League. What is the New OutRiders CCG League? Why its a large card game tournament for members of the New OutRiders. Many of the items below will depend on how many people sign up.

Q: How is the League/Tournament structured?
A: Once signups are complete, a schedule will be drawn up. No player will be scheduled more than 1 match per week (a week is Monday-Sunday). It is up to the players scheduled to find a time during the week to complete a match. Every player will be scheduled 1 or 2 matches against every other player (depending on how many participants we have). At the end of the season, based on record, players will be seeded for "Playoffs" to determine the champion (if we have enough participation we may run two tournaments, one for the best players, and one for the rest).
*Note: If we get too many participants, we'll split the league into multiple divisions and schedule that way.

Q: How long is a match?
A: A match consists of a best-of-three format. The first player to win two games, wins the match.

Q: What game are we using?
A: For season 1, we'll be playing SolForge. It is available now on PC and iOS as an open beta. SolForge is simpler to play than Magic the Gathering, it is also free-to-play, so there is no financial barrier to entry. It is a rather small download (less than 500mb), and its technical requirements are absurdly low.

Q: Ok... so how long is a match really?
A: A single game in SolForge can be as quick as 5 minutes, but it offers asynchronous play, so you could take turns throughout the whole week in a single game if you wanted.

Q: What about deck building and buying booster packs?
A: For the NOR league, we ask that everybody creates a game account solely for league play. Whatever cards you earn through league play (either through post-match rewards, or in-game Silver purchases) can be kept in your deck and played, but you are not allowed to spend any actual money within the game (meaning you can't buy or spend Gold). You may also collect your daily login reward every day. If you want to play the game on a deeper level with the outside world and buy booster packs, etc, we ask that you do that on a separate account.

Q: When does recruiting end?
A: We will recruit players to the league through Sunday, October 6th.

Q: When does play start?
A: League Play will begin on Monday, October 13th.

Q: When does play end?
A: That depends on the number of participants.

Q: Will we be able to do anything with our accounts before league play starts?
A: Yes, before league play begins on October 13th, you may play 20 GAMES (not best-of-3 matches, 20 total games) on your account against other players in the league, or against the CPU. This should earn you some points and card drops you can use to slightly customize your deck. Your daily login reward will also help in his regard.
