Can you size attached images?

Post by Skorj »

The ability to attach images to forum posts is cool, as I don't have a handy place to host them. But there doesn't seem to be a way to resize the displayed image so that it's a useful size without clicking on it. Is there any way to do that?

Except bigger. :D

I made the thumbnail larger. I did create an imageize BBCode for this express purpose, but it requires the file to be hosted offsite. I will look into another BBCode for what you are trying to do ... no promises though - might be beyond my ability.

Thanks for looking at this! I edited my post to see if a trick would work, and actually it does - at least when I view the post.

If you could add [spoiler] tags (I'm sure there BBcode around for that one), I could then hide the attachment thumbnails. :D Plus spoiler tags are good for joke punchlines and oversized images and so on. Of course, if you can find a way to add an imgsize to the {attachment} tag, so much the better!

I usually use my tumblr or imgur for hosting.

imgur is the easiest imo- I use tumblr for screenshots sometimes because I run a little gamer blog over there.

then I add the link in the imgsize and use around 500-800 pix

If that makes sense, hehe!

Hehe, I don't exist on social media. I should really create some "Skorj" accounts for stuff like this though - you make a good point about its convenience.

Tumblr, Flickr, Imgur, Instagram... there are quite literally hundreds of places to host photos old man.
