Online Roster "Basics" defintions and reports

Post by Lasarian »

The Online Roster is a central database of all members of NOR. The project is ongoing to integrate past or historical rosters into this database. Eventually we should have as complete a record as we can of every member of NOR all the way back to 1992 (with the information that has survived).

Currently, when viewing the Roster, the members are listed on a table alphabetically by their guild "Main" name. At the top of the table are fields describing what kind of information is in that column. Name, Rank, Email, etc.

Name
The member's known NOR name. Their "Main".

Rank
The member's current rank.

Email
This member's email address. It is not displayed or available textually. You can click the envelope icon though to open an email client to send that member an email.

Standing
This is the member's current status with the guild. Active, MIA, LOA, etc.

Post
What is their "job" with the guild. There are only four choices here, Member, Officer, Branch Leader and Realm Leader. This was added to help in sorting.

Game
What Realm on they on.

SQ Date
This is the member's Squire Date, when they officially joined NOR.

Alts
This lists any known alts the member has.

Above the Roster at the top of the page are a number of sorting options. You can enter text into the top three fields or use the drop down menus and press the "SORT" button. You can select a value in just one, two, three or all four of the dropdown menu fields to Sort.

For example, you can just choose SWTOR and SORT and you will see everyone who has ever played on that branch.

You can also choose Recruit, SWTOR, Active and Member (the default), and the Roster will display all of the Active Recruits on Star Wars.

By Name:
You may enter text in this field to look up a specific member by their NOR Main name. You don't have to enter their full name, the sort will return partial matches.

By Alts:
If you are not sure about their Main, but know an alt, or just want to find out who is who, you can type in this field and find their Alts.

By Email:
If you don't know who is attached to a particular email, you can look them up this way. The Sort will return the name on the roster if it is a match, but will NOT display the email address.

Reports

To the right of the "Admin" button you will see "Reports". Selecting Reports will bring you to the Reports page. This was intended to be an aid to Officers in keeping track of their numbers and reporting them to the High Council at the business meetings.

At the top you will see a guildwide table of stats: Total numbers by Rank, by Standing and on the far right, a breakdown of "Active" members per Realm.

Below that is a breakdown by Realm of all the information typically reported to the HC. Below the table is a text field which is filled with the most current information. It begins with the name of the Realm, automatically adds the current date and produces a breakdown of the numbers on the branch by Rank, including those that have gone MIA, LOA, etc., as well as a final total of Active members.

An officer can just select the entire field, press CTRL+C to copy this information to memory. During an HC meeting, one can simply select and copy this information into memory and then CTRL+V into the text field on TS3 to make a complete report to the HC.

This of course, relies on the Roster being kept up to date.
