Hail*NOR/

NOR

The holidays are upon us!  That means more gaming for some and less for others, which ever category you fallen in we wish you the best and  a merry stress-free time!

The HighCouncil has spent the past month revising the Expansion Policy, which is the process of building the guild in new games.

On the website we have added a new realm roster view.  The design is a homage to the old rosters officers would turn in each month that we had used for ages.  This new tool will help the branch keep track of their active players and alts.  It is organized with the branches hierarchy displayed first for easy officer contact.  Each player will have their NORname displayed with a list of alts they are associated with.  Making it a quick reference to see which members/recruits need promoted or who have disappeared.  Some new updates I will add is a section at the top that will display some stats like newest squire, newest recruit, longest squired member.

The roster is more then just organizing the branches of NOR.  They make up the history of our guild, they allow us to keep track of the success of a branch, who adventured together, who was active in their time, a way of recognizing the hard work of our members and much more.  We still have tons of old data to enter into the roster from long ago branches and unfortunately there are some lost branches that we don't have records for.

Please take a minute and look at your own toon and let us know if you are missing any information from your history with NOR and let a officer or me know so we can make it as accurate as we can.  We want to track things like if your a DMG member, if you have received awards, when you became active or inactive in game and of course any promotions you have received.  Also If you jump between NOR realms do we have the correct game set has your home branch or are you a NOMAD, who has no game to call home.

Lastly a quick mention that the guild store has some new items on it and a place on the forums to request some custom designs.

For those that may still have active accounts, NOR may not have this as an active realm, but there are still a couple of us hanging out here -- primarily SweetPe and myself. So, if you are still playing and are not tagged in "The New Outriders", try finding us and we can tag you. We still have the kinship house and it has items to help you continue.

By the way, for those those that haven't been keeping up, LOTRO has expanded through Rohan, into the Paths of the Dead near Dunharrow, into Western Gondor (Dol Amroth) and along the Pelargir River Valley toward Minas Tirith (which will be released in the next expansion, soon to come out). It has also come out with a new Race/Class known as the Beornings, for those that want to try their hands with the skinchangers.

*Dayda's Foundry campaign "A Spider in Winter"

Hail*NOR/

The month of October saw the return of the Masquerade of Liars, one of Neverwinter's many seasonal festivals. Jack o' Lanterns and scarecrows decorated Protector's Enclave and illusionists traveled the grounds disguised as iconic monsters and villains from Neverwinter. Players collected Liar's Charms and traded them for scarecrow companions, black-and-orange dye packs, and even a low-level artifact appropriate for leveling characters.

The Neverwinter Branch knocked down the last unconquered dungeon this month when Bucky, Hector, Phelaia, Rain, and Tyrandil defeated Traven Blackdagger, the boss of the revamped-and-much-harder Epic Cragmire Crypts dungeon. With Blackdagger's defeat, all of the currently existing epic dungeons and skirmishes have been completed by 100% NOR groups.

The Neverwinter branch also mastered the Epic Temple of the Spider Tier 2 dungeon this month (Tier 2 is the highest tier so far), to the point where most of our regular players have been able to repeatedly and reliably complete it to earn high-level gear. It's been a pleasure watching all-NOR groups regularly completing such a difficult dungeon most every night.

We also upgraded our Stronghold's Wizard's Workshop to Rank 2 this month, raising the amount of bonus hit points granted to everyone in the guild by this structure to 6,400. Not insignificant when most of our non-tank players normally top out at 80-90K HP. We couldn't have built this upgrade without generous contributions of time and in-game currency from all of our members. It's been really awesome to watch everyone chip in for the good of the guild as a whole.

This is all just in time for Module 8: Underdark to launch on November 17, bringing new challenges and opportunities with it!

In this upcoming expansion, we’re introducing new replayable content, the ability to visually preview gear, a new campaign, the markets of Mantol-Derith, a new Stronghold plot location, a new Stronghold PvP tower, a massive rework of the Tarmalune Tradebar Store, a large-scale battle against the Prince of Demons: Demogorgon, and quests written by R.A. Salvatore!

Best regards,
Baron Tyrandil

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! The new expansion is here!   The new content is amazing and lots of fun.  Some of us took the “no spoilers please” very seriously and either stayed off of teamspeak or jumped to a different channel quickly if the dialogue came a smidge close to revealing content, even when assured there were no spoilers incoming, to take no chances.  If you haven’t tried it out yet, give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed, and are in for a fun ride!  Once you’ve completed the new story line, you’ll have access to a new area with lots more to do!
Conquerors of Taris!   NOR has achieved an amazing goal; we conquered a planet!  We didn’t intend to compete, but when we checked the leaderboards and saw that we were ahead without trying, and checked the objectives for the week, decided that we’d give it a go.  And as is the NORbie way, when we set our minds to something, we achieve it!  Duke Intisar always has some great words after a tough run:

“This is truly a group achievement. In total, thirty-five NORbies participated in the event, in ways large and small. I want to thank everyone who contributed, whether it was running a flashpoint or operation, or PVPing, or crafting an Invasion Force. Every point mattered; it allowed NOR to move into first by mid-week and to run away with the win by Sunday evening.

As always I am impressed by NOR’s capacity to come together and accomplish things as a team. “Conqueror of Taris” may not be coolest title ever, but, for me, it will be sign of this super-crazy and super-fun week of Conquest.”

It was a tough week, but we finished about 300k ahead of the 2nd place guild.  What an accomplishment!  Thank you to all who participated and didn’t give up, but kept going until the very end! If you see one of us with the Conqueror of Taris title, know that we worked hard for that one and are proud to wear it!
Rakghoul Event is here!  If you have run the story line and are working on the new quests, there is a quest that can only be completed during this event.  Feel free to ask for help and one of us will be happy to run the dailies with you.  We’ll be running the ops often during this week so feel free to join in the fun!

We are happy to announce our new recruits for this go around include Katijana, Razikale, Buzrik, Tser, Kenloggins, Shiva, Naval, Mallexx, Phylas, and Phalcon.  We look forward to running with our new recruits and hope you love it here as much as we do!  If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our NORbies!

As the Branch moves into the next exciting phase, we invite everyone to keep contributing in whatever ways you can. The NOR Spirit is flourishing here, and we hope that together we all can continue to pull together and take the Branch to new heights. Good luck in your gaming adventures and we hope to see you in game! May the Force be with You!
