Goodbye Hardcore League and hello Festivult! The Hardcore League ended on November 16th to the collective despair and/or joy of many. The league was a unique experience for Dungeons & Dragons Online where one wrong step meant starting over from scratch and re-rolling a brand new character. Hardcore League #2 has been rumored to be happening some time in 2020; and while the standard servers hope it is not too soon due to the major population drops that occurred during the first league, those who are a glutton for punishment are looking forward to the second iteration of the Hardcore League both with baited breath and with hope that some important changes will occur to the quality of game play (i.e. lag-based issues) as well as to the fairness of the leader boards that had a DDO Store pay-to-win dynamic in play.

Festivult is live in Stormreach! Every treasure chest that is opened during the month of Vult (December) will have a chance to drop a copper, silver, or gold coin. The Jester of the Festivult will be available in a few weeks to turn coins into for great consumables which provide a variety of timed buffs. There is also a slim chance of getting mid-power named rewards or higher powered items such as stat and skill tomes and hearts of wood used for reincarnation. Cookie jars are available in the DDO store to hold all of the various consumables.

We here in Neverwinter are going to Hell. Only this time its not Milton (Paradise Lost) or the Poet Virgil (Dante's Inferno) that writes the story, its the writers of Baldurs Gate: Descent into Avernus, which is what this new Neverwinter Module will be based upon.

We knew something like this was coming, what with all the Demons we've slain thus far and of course the new event, Hell Pit! Where one player, alone....takes on the hoards of Hell! (and yes, we do have to sign our souls away) This event is like no other in Neverwinters history. Its gets progressively more challenging as time goes by, but the rewards can be worth the effort. If one participates in each Hell Pit event, the ultimate reward, a Legendary Mount can be yours! This is the first time the Cryptic has had a Legendary Mount obtainable for free, just by simply playing the game. In addition to the new questing Zone, a new dungeon will accompany this Module, and if they go according to plan, it will be quite a whopper! But not impossible:P (see what I did there:P)

Details on the new Module are sketchy as it has not even hit Preview yet, but non the less on January 21st, we say our prayers, take our vitamins and step into the unknown......

In a couple of weeks Neverwinters Winterfest begins anew. A favorite event amongst our players, it affords the fun of gift exchanges, some of which can be very very good, and the feeling of Holiday cheer as we once again head into Monsters on Ice, the very fun Slalom, and Ice Fishing.

We have also completed, Rank 10, our third Stronghold Boon structure and are working towards our fourth and final one. The SH is taking shape! Our Alliance is strong, and many of us help the newer guilds and their members with a variety of things. As Neverwinter slowly creeps towrds its seventh year anniversary, things are looking good, for the game, and for NOR.

Christmas Greetings from baron Bara Vasinar and the SWTOR NOR branch!

Last operation night NOR tackled Dxun, mercilessly rampaging through to the Mutant Trandoshans (none of which are named “Kephess), leaving only two bosses left. “The Nature of Progress” is the exciting new operation, and we are having a hoot learning it.

Speaking of operations, after the new year we are looking to resume Hard Mode operations. If you like learning intricate mechanics, honing new skills, the challenge, or just the big loots from the increased difficulty of a hard mode operation be sure to check in! We will have some requirements in place. Most can be met by joining us in casual mode operations night, or even running with any of use during the week. We can get you geared up for HM in no time!

If Operations are not your thing 6.0 is indeed here. Carry on your journey with a new story line. Tensions between the Sith Empire and the Republic are heating up. The Republic has a state-of-the-art shipyard in Corellia that could tip the balance of power in the galaxy. Will you protect it, or crush the valiant defenders and end the Republic once and for all?

Everyone knows who baby Yoda is by now, and the awesome Mando protecting him! Next Sunday Dec 15th we are meeting in game in full Mandalorian armor for a guild photo op. Unfortunately, baby Yoda will be busy that day, but who knows…maybe next time?

Last but certainly not least, Life day is coming in game soon! Throw snowballs at overheated droids and win cool prizes!
