Hail members of NOR!

The NOR_NEWS is once again rolling off the presses. Many new and exciting events are planned for the upcoming months. The NOR Charter has been revised and you should all be receiving a copy of it shortly. If you have not gotten it by Monday, August 15 then see your local Duke/Duchess for a copy. Also Mandates for the various offices of NOR are in the works and the holders of offices should be receiving them soon.

Congratulations to the newly appointed Duke and Duchess of RPI and MM. Duke Avatar and Duchess Leahh. HAIL NOR! These two people are doing an OUTSTANDING job in their positions. They are to be commend for their devotion and hard work.

Ideas are being accepted for events to be sponsored by the Duchies. Anyone with an idea please contact your Local Duchy and let them know. Already Hasson of MM has suggested LEVEL/QUEST night. This would be where higher level members assist in building levels or leading Quests to help lower level members. Duke Avatar is sponsoring an event in the Challenge arena on at (date/time to be filled in by Avatar). Darksyde of RPI has been nominated for the title of DUNGEON MASTER. If he performs as expected upon his test then we will be hearing from him in the NOR_NEWS in future issues.

The Duchy in Evil Way has been abandoned due to lack of leadership. Duke Maniac has gone the way of other NOR and has migrated to other realms. Anyone seeing NOR in EW should direct them to either SS, RPI, or MM. As to the NOR in Sword Swamp, a recruiting effort is underway in that Duchy and Duke Tripper requests help with recruitment there. So let’s all pitch in and spend a little time there and help him get started.

The NOR_NEWS will be published the first week of the month from now on. So if it’s not out by the end of the first week give me a prod! The general NOR Meeting will be held in each Duchy on Wednesday Nights at 6:30pm PDT. If this day/time is not convenient for the local Duchy. It may be changed to a more appropriate date/time for the Duchy members. The leadership of the Duchy should inform the Editor-in-Chief of the NOR_NEWS as to the Date/Time and it will be published in the NOR_NEWS.

SAD NEWS FROM RPI, FOLKS: Duke Avatar will resign as Duke of RPI as of Sunday July 31, 1994. The High Council called a quick session and Lioness of RPI was promoted to Duchess of RPI Host. All Hail the New Duchess, may she do as well as Duke Avatar.

The NOR will be having a Festival in our new NOR_HALL Singles DEUX. To celebrate it’s opening. We are looking for a Head Fool to help with this event. Anyone interested contact Lord Grognard of Lord Jarro (108350) for more info about this position.

As of today this is the oldest NORnews we have found in old emails and computer files. There is some Jargon in the document that Lord Emeritus Lasarian and Lord Tundrra have been able define here for you:

RPI = Roleplay Inn, this was the main server or chat room for the Yserbius game.
EW = Evil Way, the original server the guild was created on. Each server had their own Duke and officers running them. No server could allow more the 50 players on at one time, which is why the guild had multiple servers. More than once NOR filled an entire server leaving no room for other guilds.
MM = Mace Manor, another server of Yserbius
SS = Sword Swamp, another server of Yserbius
MB = Mailbox for in-game mail.
