History: The Guild Tree
The Tree Organization
*NOR was rapidly becoming one of the largest Guilds in Yserbius. One major problem was making sure that all members were informed of news and events that affected or involved them (newsletter origin). Lord Avatar proposed a “Tree” organization. He used the term “Tree” more to represent the Brotherhood/Sisterhood aspect of the Guild versus the word “Pyramid” which is where dead bodies were usually kept. The Tree’s basic structure was to try to ensure that all members got their information in a timely fashion. Remembering that any INN mail could only be addressed to one person at a time, a good portion of an Officer’s time was used mailing to their members.
The Baron(ess) was to do the initial mailing with the Count(ess) backing them up if, for whatever reason, the Baron(ess) could not be reached or had a full Mail Box. A full Mail Box was not an unusual occurrence on INN since the size was a max of 10,000 bytes.
The “Tree” organization structure:
This structure was tested by Duchess Lioness and then later by Duke F’Lar in the largest host of *NOR in Role Play Inn (RPI). While there were some problems, for the most part, it was vastly superior to the “hit or miss” method then currently in place. In late October of 94 Lord Avatar, with the blessing of the HC, issued a mandate for all Dukes and Duchesses to institute the “Tree” in their Duchy.
