Elder Scrolls Online: Battlegrounds Guide

New OutRiders: Battlegrounds Guide

Overview
Battlegrounds Night is a fast-paced, team-based PvP event that welcomes all guild members, regardless of their Alliance. Unlike Cyrodiil, Battleground teams are assigned by color-coded squads (Fire Drakes, Pit Daemons, and Storm Lords), meaning players from different alliances can fight together in premade teams without restrictions.

This event is perfect for players looking to sharpen their PvP skills in structured, small-scale battles that emphasize teamwork, objective control, and combat mechanics.

Event Details

  • Format: Battleground matches (Premades & Random Queue)
  • Faction Rules: No alliance restrictions – all members can team up regardless of faction.
  • Group Size: Up to 4 players per premade team; otherwise, players can queue solo.

How Battleground Teams Work

Battlegrounds differ from Cyrodiil in that players are placed on teams based on Battleground squads, not their Alliance’s. This means:

  • Premade groups can mix players from different alliances (e.g., a team with Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and Ebonheart Pact members).
  • The system assigns groups to Fire Drakes, Pit Daemons, or Storm Lords, ignoring faction loyalty.
  • All teams have an equal chance to win, regardless of individual alliances.

Event Objectives & Playstyle
Each Battleground match follows a specific mode, such as:

  • Deathmatch: Pure combat-focused, team with the most kills wins.
  • Capture the Relic: Similar to capture-the-flag, requiring teamwork and mobility.
  • Domination: Hold control points across the map longer than the enemy.
  • Chaosball: One player holds the ball while suffering increasing debuffs—teams must protect their carrier.

Officers will encourage team coordination, strategy discussions, and friendly competition.

How to Participate

  1. Form a premade group (up to 4 players) or queue solo.
  2. Join voice chat for coordination.
  3. The group leader will queue the group for Battlegrounds through the PvP menu.
  4. Play multiple rounds—teams can rotate based on matchups depending on how many are in attendance.
  5. Debrief afterward, share strategies, and discuss highlights in a positive manner.

Rules & Etiquette

  • Be respectful—good sportsmanship is encouraged.
  • Avoid toxic behavior (e.g., excessive taunting, griefing, or harassment).
  • If using voice chat, keep communication focused and constructive.
  • Have fun! This event is meant to improve teamwork and PvP awareness.

Officer Guidelines

  • Coordinate signups; track participation numbers in advance.
  • Explain team mechanics to newer players before the event starts.
  • Monitor voice chat & behavior to ensure a positive experience.
  • Rotate game modes if players want variety throughout the night.
  • Debrief post-match; discuss strengths, strategies, and highlights.

Happy Hunting!
