Woot! Issue 100! Thanks everyone for your years of contributions. Over those years we have attached ceremonial ribbons to your member histories on the occasion we snagged one of your screenshots or if you wrote an article for the newsletter, I know it’s not a lot but we Thank You very much for making it all come together.
The current run of news articles started August 2015, 9yrs ago! However it was a tradition long before that, beginning with one of the Founders, Lady Emeritus Elidrel. Way back when in-game emails were pretty limited and the news about events and meetings had to be cut and pasted to each guild member individually, there was no email list or social media for mass sending. Even internet access was limited by how long you could be online in a month or even a week, so how the newsletter was sent out evolved.
In the fall of 1994 Lord Avatar created the Guild Tree. Barons at the base were assigned to send the news to their handful of members, their Count could oversee and help and the Duke kept it all moving along. This kept it from being just one person using up all their AOL minutes sending mail and of course this tree structure has grown to help organize our guild realms and helped the guild grow over the many games and years.
The Guild Tree organization fell out of practice when we moved from spreadsheet rosters to the online database in 2013, but I’m happy to announce this past month we have brought our beloved Barony names, County names and Duchy structures back to the rosters🙂 A special thanks to Lord Garadian for the extra push of missing them greatly!
If you have not guessed it yet I wanted to focus a little about history for this milestone edition. Of course I didn’t join till 2003 and back then I wasn’t part of the guilds politics or in the know, so I had to scour the web and way back machines to find bits of our lost history. First off a big shout to Lord Emeritus Lasarian who was the webmaster before me, he had set up a wiki, which had gathered several realm origin stories from various branch leaders of past (even a couple from me). Even further back when we had the .com domain Lady Emeritus Mookster wrote a lengthy history full of drama and excitement during those first few years of the guild’s establishment. She also described the origins of the newsletter, Guild Tree, Awards, and the *NOR/jacket. All these histories have been added to the website once again for all to enjoy.

One more exciting announcement, we now have a 6th Active Realm of *NOR/ recruiting and organizing events. We welcome back World of Warcraft on its new server, Proudmoore! Count Chazore has taken up the challenge of its new Branch Leader. For those on Whisperwind you still have a home as Lady Zyera maintains guild control, however the active recruiting realm will be Proudmoore. Server Transfers are available for those wanting to bring their support to our latest dive into the lands of Azeroth.
As always if anyone wants to contribute their knowledge about a past or current realms give me a shout and we will get your article posted.

Dungeon & Dragons Online is currently testing their soon-to-be-released Eladrin Chaosmancer, which will bring a new player character race and iconic class to Eberron. These will drop in the near future as part of the Magic of Myth Drannor expansion.
As a reminder, log into your account and redeem your monthly free gift by talking to Xatheral, the Year of the Dragon Gift Giver located in the Hall of Heroes, lower level. This month’s gift is a green dragon mount, viewable in this article’s accompanying image. For free-to-play accounts, this is a great opportunity to receive a mount, which will grant you increased travel speed outside of dungeon instances. Additionally, in the DDO Store, the summer sales have begun, which will provide deep weekly discounts on various items to help enhance your questing experience.
*NOR/DDO’s guild ship is currently level 110, and when you use the “guild buffs” lever on the main deck of our airship, you will be granted a multitude of stat, skill, and damage buffs that will last up to four hours of questing time before you will need to renew them. Our next level goal to achieve is 120, and we would love your help, which you can do by questing and prevailing in battle against the enemy forces of Xen’drik!

Hope everyone is having an amazing year so far!
Things have been a little quiet in the FFXIV Realm as we await the new expansion. Early access starts June 28th, only 16 more days to go!
There’s no shortage of things to do in game. The Breaking Brick Mountains event runs from June 5th-June 20th, the Yokai watch event started April 24th and will run until the release of Dawntrail, as well as the Moogle Treasure Trove event, which will run until June 24th.
In preparation of Dawntrail, Square Enix has added 4 new worlds to the Dynamis Data center to help with congestion on the servers. As well as releasing an updated Dawntrail benchmark so you can take a look at what your character will look like, and how well your computer will run FFXIV with the new graphics updates. We continue to host events twice a week for all to join. Thank you to everyone that participates in, and helps with these events, you all play a big part in making the New Outriders such a great Guild!

Hail and greetings from Tyria. We have some big news to share with everyone. First, I’d like to thank everyone who has helped us become a Duchy again! Special shout out to Lord Garadian, and the GW2 officer krewe, Count Beesus(DM), Baron Vargorian, and Baron Abban who have all helped us grow with recruiting, daily events, leading end-game content, and the every day running of the guild to help us achieve this milestone.
And not only is the guild growing, so is Tyria. Our next expansion “Janthir Wilds” is coming August 20th. (youtube video) We will be visiting the home of the White Mantle which the Astral Ward have been guarding from the rest of Tyria. But now, with our new found alliance, it’s time to find out more about Tyria’s past to help its future.
To aid us, we will discover new ways of fighting including learning to use spears on land for all classes. (Janthir Wilds) Leading up to the release, ArenaNet will be showing off some of the new skills. As of this newsletter, we have a preview of the Guardian, Necromancer, and Ranger skills. (Youtube Video) And more will be released leading up to release along with a beta event June 27th to June 30th and a live stream on June 21st at noon Pacific Time.
In addition, a rift opened in the mist allowing the Warclaw to leave and enter core Tyria. Previously locked in the WvW mists, the Warclaw is coming as we explore Janthir along with new WvW skills to help it continue to thrive in the mists.
Also, for those who wish to test their strength, a new raid wing (wing 8) is coming in November. This is our first new raid wing since the release of Path of Fire. And a new PvP mode with a new map and objectives with help of the community over the coming year.
And one more thing, personal housing is also coming! Over 10 years in the making, our own account-wide homestead in the beautiful Janthir Wilds will be ours to decorate and cultivate. And all our unlockable resource from our story home instance will migrate over as well.
But no need to wait as we have a lot of things going on. Through June 25th is Dragon Bash. Enjoy the Norn hospitality we are famous for as you test your strength in the Holo arena and the Hologram Stampede across the Shiverpeaks, pinata bashing earning pieces of Zhaitaffy and Jorbreakers, Moa race betting, and roller beetle racing. And July brings Sunken Treasure Week, Dungeon Rush Bonus Event, PvP Rush Bonus Event, Return to Season 3 Bonus Event and finishing up with Festival of the Four Winds leading us to the release of “Janthir Wilds”.
Plus, Guild Wars 2 is coming to the Epic Game Store. So if you have an Epic account, you have another way to play along with the stand-alone client and Steam.

Welcome to episode 100!!! Congratulation to NOR on the 100th issue. This month brings us to schemes within schemes as we follow more of the Mandalorian war between Shae Vizla and the Hidden Chain and Heta Cole. 7.5 Desperate Defiance has been live and has also brought with it the spring event. There is a holo-May pole, pie making, farming and fishing.
We have 46 days remaining in Season 5 of Galactic Seasons, and have just started the sixth season of PVP the “Great Pirate Hunt.” We have revisited the R4 anomaly and hunt multiple world bosses on a regular occasion. We have started on large raids now teaming up with the AIE guild and Nexus of Radiance. We plan on visiting the Ancient Threat this weekend.
The Basilisk Prototype mission is live now, and you can get your own Basilisk companion robot to journey with. The cartel market has new cosmetic items from the new Star Wars show “The Acolyte” that have been added to the Ahsoka and Mandalorian cosmetic items. Huta has updated graphics and modernizations. The SwTOR team under Broadsword has really hit the ground running and has been making many updates and upgrades to the game, as well as continuing the storyline with more voice acting. In game events currently are the Pirate Incursion on Dantooine followed by Bounty Contract week to finish out the month.

On June 2nd, we reopened our World Of Warcraft realm as a provisional Barony. I have been focusing on finding us some new recruits who will eventually become an integral part of our *NOR/ family. It’s been going very smoothly, and as of typing this up we have 15 active members!
I am looking forward to building further and getting to know all of our newer members personally over time.
Within time, we’ll be doing all types of content together. Whether that be in the open world or braving Mythic+! Currently, we don’t have any true events planned date wise. But within some time I wish to change that. But that’s fine! A few of us, old and new have already been playing together and making friends.
For all the new members reading this: I want to give you a heartfelt welcome to *NOR/! I hope to play with you now, and far into the future. Even when the day the WoW servers closing down comes to be.
