Dungeons & Dragons Online is currently hyping its pre-purchase offers for its new expansion: Isle of Dread, a DDO adaptation of the 1981 X1 Module originally offered in the D&D Expert Set and written by Stephen Marsh and David Cook. For those of you like me who got their start in the Basic, Advanced, and Expert Dungeons & Dragons boxes and rulebooks, this is a great blast from the past. It will have a prehistoric theme to it, provide a new line of crafted gear, introduce the Tabaxi race, and increase the epic level cap to 32.
There are three options for pre-purchase: Standard Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Ultimate Fan Bundle. Each will include the Isle of Dread content and the Tabaxi Character Race; the Collector’s Edition will add a Dinosaur Hunter Cosmetic Outfit, a dinosaur mount, and some bonus swag; and the Ultimate Bundle will also provide the Iconic Hero: Trailblazer, Dread Pirate Cosmetic Outfit, Swift Raptor Mount, and a bunch of extra perks.
