Hail*NOR/NOR

25 year anniversary, 50 issues of the newsletter and It is time to celebrate!!! For those that can travel head to Indiana for NORbash 2017 on August 19th, for cooking out fun and visiting GenCon one of the largest table top conventions in the country! Not able to make the trip? Then celebrate with 2 new Guild Contests!

Screenshot Contest:

The first being a screenshot contest where the first 40 participants will receive a NOR logo sticker and the favorite screenshot winner will receive a guild mouse pad. We will use the screenshots for upcoming newsletters!

Artwork Contest:

The most exciting of the two contests is art for the website.  We have Lasarian's awesome NORcastle pieces and Intisar's 25yr anniversary logo. We really want to expand on that with some additional pieces we could use as backgrounds or in the corners of various sections of the website to give it some original character to our website.

Rewards for this we would give out posters, mousepads, shirts or really whatever the top 3 winners are interested in, with a limit of $50 from our guild store.

Hail*NOR/

Being one of the newer branches of the NOR family, our goals have been modest and we have had the hiccup or two along the road but we have several new recruits and two new members to our leadership
team in Count Corval and Baron FullDevil.  Give them a cheer!  We have even taken the step of enlarging the guild in game to allow us to have more members.

We have gained a new class in the Striker recently and his awakened weapon was released on Wednesday.  Think monk with steel fists.  We *crosses fingers* will get our newest expansion on Wednesday (Hope I didn’t just jinx us).  The expansion will be tailored more for our high level 50's and low 60's characters with the much anticipated Tier 9 horses (I admit I am one the one looking forward to that).  There are some whispers in the wind of changes to BDO's version of PvP guild wars and I am looking forward to reading more about it and maybe eventually having the guild participate in some
way.  Currently this just released in Korea but hopefully will hit North America soon.

We look forward you many more adventures in game and with New Outriders in the days, months and years to come.

Hail *NOR/!

The Dungeons and Dragons Online branch of *NOR/ has so much content options available to our members that the hardest part of playing DDO is deciding which character to adventure with and which activity to enjoy!  The Free to Play content is plentiful enough for someone to go from level 1 to level 20; Cannith crafting provides powerful ways to construct items for your characters; reincarnation allows level-capped characters to be reborn into more powerful creations; explorer areas give an alternative to DDO’s instance-based questing; tavern PVP is available to test skills and spells; and every week there is a new event occurring.

If you haven’t logged onto DDO in a while, please come say hi!  If you have never played within the beautiful world of Dungeons and Dragons Online, feel free to roll up a character for free and come enjoy the MMORPG founded from the game that started the role playing genre.

You can download the game at https://www.ddo.com/en/game/download.
See you in game!

elder scrolls online

Hail *NOR/!

It is my pleasure to announce that the NOR branch in The Elder Scrolls Online has been reactivated, recruiting efforts will soon be underway.  I encourage all that have thought about trying the Elder Scrolls but have held back to consider giving this gem of an MMO a chance, it is buy to play but I think you definitely get your money's worth and if you decide to subscribe you get all DLC's that have been released at your disposal and also all future DLC.  It’s also worth mentioning that the latest Chapter in the main story Morrowind has been released, Vivec a living god of the Dunmer people of Morrowind, a member of the Tribunal needs our help against a mysterious threat that could spell disaster for every living being on the island of Vvardenfell.

My hope for this Branch of NOR is to be a place where you can do whatever it is you wish to do with your time here in ESO, as our branch grows hopefully we can cater to all types of playstyles.  For now the focus is to bring in members who wish to be part of not just a community of players but also a family of gamers who embody the spirit of what makes NOR one of the greatest cross-gaming communities out there.  We have a long and enduring history of fostering qualities in players such as being helpful, mutual co-operation to further each other’s goals, inclusiveness and our amazing ability to accept each other for who we are, no judgement no matter the skill level, gender or other superficial labels.

This game has a lot to offer those who enjoy good stories, exploring delves and dungeons, battling gods, being manipulated by gods, being a gods plaything....fun times.  In closing ESO has a lot of exciting things coming over the horizon, like the return to the clockwork city, maybe we'll finally meet Sotha'sil...alive and well.  Anyways look forward to adventuring with you all in Tameriel.

Hail*NOR/ It’s a privilege to give a report from the Guild Wars 2 realm on this special 50th issue of the NOR newsletter. We hope everyone is enjoying a fun and relaxing summer. We’ve been busy in the GW2 realm adjusting to the recent changes to the Heart of the Mists, our new summer event schedule, and lots of new faces!

With the advent of summer, a number of us have seen shifts in our schedules, so we decided to revamp our organized events. We held a poll to see what activities most interest you and got a nice turnout, so thank you to everyone that voted and added their comments. We will now be scheduling weekly events for achievements and hero point hunting, guild missions, dungeons and fractals, WvW, and an open PvE on Sunday afternoons. See our event schedule post on the forums or the pinned messages in our #gw-chat Discord text channel for specific days and times. Due to the aforementioned schedule changes we have taken a pause in progression raiding but will look to have training runs and joint events with our KNHD allies. If you are interested in raiding, please indicate as much in our raid interest thread.

On June 20th, ArenaNet delivered a major patch with a complete overhaul to the Heart of the Mists lobby, including a public dueling ring, a jumping puzzle, and new achievements. It’s very well done and worth visiting even if you don’t PvP. The new area was accompanied with PvP related class balancing and several modifications to structured PvP dailies and tournaments. For more details, see our forum post.

Our Guild Hall continues to see improvements as we near level 49. Many of the synthesizers have been upgraded to provide more harvests, and the Guild Trader has leveled up as well. As we continue to chip away at the materials needed for upgrades, every little bit helps so please continue to check the message of the day from the Guild Panel to see how you might be able to assist. Thank you to everyone and your hard work for all the donations!

We’ve also been busy welcoming a lot of new faces this month, and recognizing the dedication of others. We congratulate Oldgoat on his promotion to Squire Honor, and Titus, Vandane, SylviaLea, Gwinevere, and Random on their reception into full membership as Squires. We welcome our new recruits Kberg, Arbitrarylatinname, DKShang, EinikilVinebow, RottinEngin, MazReed, joemar, Arkona, Alexxandris, Azrael, TrixBunnie, Froootloops, and KisarenRen. It’s great to have you with us and we hope you find a home here in NOR for many years and games to come.

Hail*NOR/

This month is the 4th Anniversary of Neverwinter.  Has it really been 4 years?  11 mods later, our little branch here in the Forgotten Realms has grown from not having enough people for even one 5-man dungeon to having multiple dungeon groups on the weekly dungeon night.  We have our own castle, complete with a moat that has piranhas in it, which someone mistakenly mail ordered--don't fall in, they bite.  We are part of an alliance of guilds that share the same attitude towards helping others, and the alliance regularly hosts events that help everyone gear up.  As a branch, we've had our ups and downs in 4 years, but we're still chugging along because we are NOR, and everyone pitches in when the guild calls.

This last month also saw the promotions of Lagen Kindheart to Squire, Ziek to Dungeon Organizer, and Benn Stalkingwolf to Champion.  Congrats to all!

July 25th will be the launch of Mod 12: Tomb of Annihilation.  So far, reports from those who've spent a little time on the preview server indicates that the new zone is not a cakewalk.  It has dinosaurs, everywhere.  ;-)

Until next month,

Duchess Phelaia Fiendline

*Meeting up for dance party prior to killings some Ops bosses (including HM Eyeless!) just can't be beat!

Hail*NOR/

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! Like to gamble?  It’s that time again!

“Take a break from saving the galaxy and enjoy the greatest spectacle this side of the Outer Rim! Godoba the Hutt and Czerka Corporation are proud to announce the return of the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife festival, running all summer-long!

Test your luck on the slot machines at the exotic Star Cluster and Club Vertica Casinos, compete with other high rollers, and create unforgettable memories. Try your luck at this year’s grand prizes, including the Vectron Wraith speeder and Gamorrean bodyguard Companion!”

Want to read up on what’s coming this summer?  Find the above mentioned and more at: http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20170613-0  In the meantime, head on over to Nar Shaddaa to lose all your hard earned money; we promise it won’t take long.  A few NORbies have been lucky and won some mounts so give it a shot and let us know what you win!

There’s been renewed interest in raiding and we are able to raid more often some weeks.  If you’d like to join us, please let us know, we’d love to have you run with us.  If you don’t think you’re quite geared enough, we can help!  We’ve successfully run Tyth multiple times. The run is typically uneventful other than those darned railings which appear to fail us at the most inopportune moments, but give us tons of laughs.  Most recently, when tasked with the difficult job of keeping Knight Burnedd alive during the raid, all was going well until, wouldn’t you know it, there was a railing failure.  Knight Burnedd rolled right over the edge and there was nothing the healers could do except laugh, ahem, we mean apply cold compresses and express our deepest sympathies.

As the Branch moves into the next exciting phase, we invite everyone to keep contributing in whatever ways you can. The NOR Spirit is flourishing here, and we hope that together we all can continue to pull together and take the Branch to new heights. Good luck in your gaming adventures and we hope to see you in game! May the Force be with You!
