Hail*NOR/

Teamspeak is the topic of this month’s newsletter.  The important thing to know is a change that was made a few months ago when Archeage was having huge PvP wars.  At that time permissions were adjusted that makes first time users a guest rank.  Guests cannot move freely to the different chat channels or see who is online and they start out hanging in the guild hall.  If you see them there and they are a recruit or member please don’t hesitate to promote them to member status in teamspeak, so they can move to their game’s chat channel.  So if someone is hanging out in the guild hall ask them if they need help.

Friends of NOR, or players joining in on a Raid, just need to be moved/dragged down to the correct Raid Channel.

A quick reminder as well, “Attitude” in Teamspeak is the same as anywhere you wear your NORjacket/Guild tag

"The Golden Rule applies here!! Do not be rude or obnoxious!! Do not pressure any person to join NOR!! Obscene or derogatory language is not permitted in NOR, and will result in disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the Guild. We expect a family atmosphere.”

We all game to relax and have a good time together, so even though it’s the season of politics, keep it out of the chat.  It is sometimes best to keep the illusion that we all have the same political, religious and world view.  I hate for you to learn we are all different :)

Hail*NOR/

This month we have seen great effort in recruiting pay off with fantastic NOR recruits. We now stand at 13 active members and are still growing. We were privileged to welcome our first squiring and welcome NORFrostDreams to the BDO and New Outrider family. We look forward to adding plenty more new squires in the next few weeks!

As everyone is busy leveling up their combat and trade skills we hope to start guild events in the near future. The game has some major releases with the addition of a free expansion and 2 new character classes the Maehwa and the Musa (Samurai types) and we are told to expect a second major FREE expansion in June/July that will add more lands and 2 more classes (the NINJAS!).

Hail*NOR/

It’s hard to believe that only one month has passed since the last newsletter as we have seen a lot of changes to both the game and the NOR branch, and all very positive! The HUGE spring quarterly update introduced sweeping changes to various rewards, the Heart of Thorns map meta, WvW, and several other quality of life improvements. As many people have delightfully observed, “Every part of the game is relevant again.”

NOR has been very busy doing whatever it takes to expand the Gilded Hollow guild hall, to the point that many of us saw little tiny flax plants when closing our eyes at night. Since initially claiming it last month, we have added the Tavern, the Mine, the Workshop, the Market, and are on the cusp of completing the first step towards the Arena. Several additional upgrades have provided the guild with numerous perks. The scribing station at the workshop allows you to access both your personal bank and material storage. We have added guild swiftness to the hall to make your errands go faster, and there is a free XP or Karma boost available at the tavern. We have a repair anvil, guild bank, and merchant all right near the entry waypoint to help process your loot! Please keep an eye on the forums and the guild panel message to see what we’re working on and what resources are needed for the next expansion.

Speaking of forums, please take some time to visit them regularly! We get a lot of questions about end-game gearing (especially fractal infusions), and guild hall expansion requirements - many of which are covered in the Guild Wars 2 area of the NOR forums. So if you don’t do so already, please check them out. Some specific threads of interest would be our GW2 Event Schedule, End Game Gearing Guide, Guild Hall Subforum, and of course Post pictures of your characters!

Over the next month, we will continue to run our weekly events for dungeons, fractals, and the Sunday SIEGE event. We’ve already begun more frequent guild missions in order to provide favor towards the guild hall, but also because the personal rewards are very useful for purchasing valuable items like Ascended accessories! As we continue to gear up and become more proficient with the harder content, we will definitely be looking forward to trying out the Forsaken Thicket raid as well. ArenaNet have introduced some interesting new achievements over the past couple of weeks with the Unidentified Lodestone and Bandit Bounty events. These seem to be precursors to the Living Season 3 content that is expected to be out later this year. There is a lot of exciting content for NOR to tackle for the foreseeable future!

With all that lies ahead, we’re happy to enjoy it with a growing group of great people. We welcome Burnedd, Dasaybz, Razirya, Elyon, Dr. Frankenheket, and Marcack as our latest squires. We also saw the return of Knight Alaer and former NOR recruit Armstrong to the GW2 branch. We have many new recruits checking out NOR for the first time and seeing what makes us great: Koviana, Ruzz, Dragung, Kaya, Xyain, Ormazd, CrazyChipmunk, Fanaira, ViVi, Mangageek, and Aramlug. We send you all a warm welcome and hope you enjoy the game to its fullest with us.

There are a lot of exciting things on the horizon for the Guild Wars 2 branch. We’re looking forward to exploring it together and welcome anyone else who wants to come along with us! Guild Wars 2 has a generous free to play model so it’s easy to jump in and get a taste of the game.

*"Officer Meeting?" "Hacking Sack Circle?"...either way we need some more impressive Neverwinter screenshots posted!

Hail*NOR/

We have added a weekly Tiamat raid to our schedule of regular events. Every Wednesday night at 7:00 Pacific (10:00 Eastern), we get together, as a branch, to tackle the 25-player Tiamat raid. This is the largest raid content Neverwinter currently has to offer, and this (along with the Dragonflight multi-dragon fight on Friday nights) allows us to get everyone together for one massive, coordinated fight. It's a lot of fun.

In addition to our Wednesday and Friday raid nights, our branch has a day set aside for messing around together with little-used alts (Awkward Alt Tuesday) and a day set aside for improving the Stronghold (Stronghold Saturday).

Speaking of the Stronghold: between the generosity and hard work of our members (several of whom have donated significant amounts of their time and/or treasure) and some easing of the upgrade requirements by the devs, it's been humming along recently. After months of anticipation, we finally build the Rank 4 Marketplace, and with it, we unlocked the much-lusted-after Dragonflight armor set. We are well on our way to meeting our next goal, which is upgrading the Guild Hall to Rank 9 (it's at Rank 8 right now), which will allow us to build a second guildwide-stat-bonus-generating boon structure!

Something else that has been humming along: recruiting! We welcomed several new recruits to the guild in the past week, thanks in large part to the dedicated effort of our newest officer, Dlandru. A special shout-out to him, and to our new recruits (some of whom have already been squired): Jhon Snow, Xycat, DwarfFriend, ManuelQuarks, Tiani! A hearty welcome, also to returning NOR officers Llira, Tempest, and Gwenivieve!

Last but not least, the developers are working on a formal in-game guild alliance system. It's currently being tested on the preview server, and several of the larger and more prominent guilds in Neverwinter are openly discussing potential alliances already. Duchess Phelaia has her ear to the ground, has already scouted out some guilds that might be a good fit for an alliance, and is sending out feelers to see if there is mutual interest. Stay tuned for more in the next newsletter!

Best regards,
Count Tyrandil

The Old Republic

Hail*NOR/

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! New chapters are being released routinely, and if you haven’t had the pleasure of running through the new content yet, you’re in for a treat!  There are fun and surprising occurrences you don’t want to miss!

Weapon Tunings!  Want to give your weapon a cool look? Here’s how:
“If you want to equip a Weapon Tuning the first thing you’ll need is a weapon with an available Tuning Slot. Weapons that have a Tuning Slot come from many different sources including the Cartel Market, PvP, Operations, Reputation Vendors, Flashpoints, Heroics Missions, and Crafting Recipes. Be sure to check if your Weapon has a Tuning Slot!

Next, you’ll need a Weapon Tuning. They are currently only found in Cartel Market Packs. The first Weapon Tuning, Lightning, is available in the Plunderer Pack which launches alongside Chapter XIII: Profit and Plunder.

Once you’ve got a weapon with an open Tuning Slot and a Weapon Tuning, combining the two is as simple as making any other modification to your weapon. First, CTRL+Right-click the item to open up the Field Modification window. You can also take it to an Item Modification Station. Then simply drag the Weapon Tuning into the open Tuning Slot and hit “Apply”. Your Weapon will automatically begin using the effect created by the Mod!”  Check out the look here:  http://www.swtor.com/info/news/blog/20160420

Raiding fun!  If you have not had the opportunity to run some or all of the Ops, join us on Tuesday evenings, 9pm server time for a fun time!  Anyone level 55 and up is welcome.  Don’t let “potato” gear or “I haven’t ever run before, I don’t know what I’m doing” stop you.  We’re here to teach you the ropes and get you killed….er we mean help you have fun!  If you’d rather be a little better prepared before a run, talk to Intisar, Galaxiya, or Vasniar and we’ll chat with you about what it’s like to raid and what you may want to know beforehand that would be helpful.  There’s always something to learn in SWTOR and we’re happy to help.

We are happy to announce our new recruit for this go around is Phieren, welcome!  We look forward to running with our new recruits and hope you love it here as much as we do!  If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our NORbies!

As the Branch moves into the next exciting phase, we invite everyone to keep contributing in whatever ways you can. The NOR Spirit is flourishing here, and we hope that together we all can continue to pull together and take the Branch to new heights. Good luck in your gaming adventures and we hope to see you in game! May the Force be with You!
