*Newyears eve gift exchange

Hail*NOR/

With the month of December came the return of the Winter Festival! (Ignore for the moment that the game is called Neverwinter.) Guildmates had a fun time ice fishing, fighting the Monsters on Ice(tm), and caroming down the ice slalom on sleds, mounts, their bare feet, and even seated on thrones(!)

Best of all was the guild-wide Simril gift exchange that took place on New Year's Day. What was that, you ask? Well, each day during the Winter Festival, each of your characters could pick up a free Simril gift. This is an item that, when used, generates free items for your entire party, including the potential for epic-quality items. It also releases a nifty paper lantern into the sky. The catch? You can't use it on yourself; you have to give it away to someone else! So what better way to use your accumulated store of Simril gifts than in a mass giftstravaganza with everyone else in NOR? On New Year's Eve, our characters binged on Simril lightwine, set off an armory's worth of lightbeams and iceworks, released a glowing armada of paper lanterns into the night sky, and gave each other a ton of loot. The event was very well-attended; in fact, most of the active branch members were there, and it was so popular that we held an encore gift exchange the following Wednesday! Kudos to Knight Santhus and Baron Nors for conceiving the idea!

Aside from the Winter Festival, we have been busy fighting our way through the Rise of Tiamat expansion, with its centerpiece 25-player boss fight against the titular dragon goddess Tiamat. Several guildmates earned their artifact-quality off-hand weapons, completing their artifact main-and-off-hand weapon sets. Some have even earned the artifact-cloak-belt trifecta, earning massive amounts of nerd cred (and potentially incurring massive amounts of astral diamond debt to power up said trifecta to legendary quality). And while Cryptic still hasn't fixed the sloppy job they did implementing this content and we still can't enter the fight in a group with each other(!!!), the player community has devised an acceptable workaround that basically involves everyone hitting the button to enter the fight at the same time. It's still rare for us to even get a 5-member group in at the same time, but we can usually enter in twos and threes now. Usually.

The Neverwinter branch continued to grow over this past month, as more recruits continued to trickle in from Battle Magic. We even had some guild applications this month that related positive experiences with our guild members as the motivation for joining. A special shout-out to Baron Hrothnor in this regard -- way to represent NOR!

Big news from the devs! They just announced the release of mod 6! It should coincide with the next D&D release! Paladin announced as our newest class! This is exciting news, and I will add a bit more each month in our newsletter!

Best regards,
Baron Tyrandil & Count Bammer

swtor the old republic*first pull kill on HM Sparky!

Hail*NOR/!

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! Since the release of the strongholds, norbies have been busily working on decorating and it’s time to show your guildies what you’ve done!  Get ready to Show Off Your Stronghold on Saturday, February 7th around 8pm est. Given the interest, we expect to schedule more stronghold viewings for other days as it is likely we will not finish all the tours before raid time, and want to see everyone’s stronghold.  If you would like to tour norbie strongholds, please log on about 5-10 minutes before start time so we can get a group formed and begin checking out people's houses. Teamspeak is recommend so you can be in on the convos and socialize, as you know when norbies get together, it’s always a fun time!  If you don't have a mic, it's okay! Join the channel and listen in!  And in true norbie party fashion, decoration prizes will be ready to be won by /roll! So get your dice ready!  Those who have rigged dice (You know who you are….okay I’m one of them….), share your luck with others! J  We will check out any size stronghold, so don't feel bad if you haven't unlocked much yet, we’re just happy to see your ideas, and maybe borrow a few. :)

Most have gotten in some good play time with the new expansion pack and it’s time to resume more regular conquest events!  For conquesting info & events check out the forum at  link  We routinely post conquest information on the forum and welcome norbie posts as norbies always have great ideas and information to pass on to others.  Please post your ideas, thoughts, and accomplishments on the forum for others to learn from and feel free to tag any of the officers if you have questions.  We are always ready and willing to run with you and answer questions.  We routinely set times to run conquest events, or plan them on the fly when there’s interest.  It doesn’t take much work to reach the conquest target, especially if guildies run together!

Interested in raiding?  Check out the raiding requirements on the forum and please remember to sign up on the events schedule so the raid leaders can plan accordingly.  If you have not yet signed up for the forums, message an officer for the key code needed to sign up and visit our website, www.newoutriders.org to fill out the form under the forum tab. All Operation Requirements have been updated and can be found at:
link

If you are unsure of gear requirements, especially with the new gear and changes, feel free to contact one of our DMG group members: DM Valikk and KP members Zyera, Intisar, Windemere, and Sohlstice or check the forum for more information.  Our guild leaders are great about posting updated information! Check out the new posts on link

Raid schedule is as follows:

Raids begin at 9:00 pm est:

Tuesday:  Republic Progression
Wednesday:  Republic Story Mode
Thursday:  Republic Progression

Friday: Sith Story Mode
Saturday: Sith Progression
Sunday: Sith Progression

Raids begin at 9:00am est:

Saturdays:  TBD based on interest
Sundays:    TBD based on interest

While these are the scheduled nights/mornings, we run pickup raids regularly. Normally, the pickup raids have been occurring at the regular 9:00 p.m. est time, but if there are a large amount of members online, it is not uncommon for someone to ask about an adhoc raid! Come join us for the fun!

On to promotions and new recruits!  A well-deserved congratulations to Sohlstice who was promoted to Champion!  Congratulations to Begbie, Gerglid, Jan-ji, Krindo, Harth, Moxat, Zakar and Zera’Tassern, who were promoted to squire!  The interest in NOR is growing and we welcome our new recruits Ahka, Genikos, Grey’Wolf, Kaycia, Mauric, Morganth, Recktone, Soulfinger, Umì, and Zelad’agenne! We look forward to running with you and hope you love it here as much as we do!  If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our norbies!

As the Branch moves into the next exciting phase, we invite everyone to keep contributing in whatever ways you can. The NOR Spirit is flourishing here, and we hope that together we all can continue to pull together and take the Branch to new heights. Good luck in your gaming adventures and we hope to see you in game! May the Force be with You!
