CU Kickstarter Updates

The Kickstarter is over. CU is the 6th highest $ video game project of Kickstarter.

The PayPal donations will run for 30 days as well (mainly for people in Europe who didn't want to use Amazon Payments).

With a combined $2,250,000 between the Kickstarter and the PayPal account, the online Herald/Armory for CU is now confirmed.

So what is the "Herald/Armory"?

Camelot Herald was the website that had all the stats for RvR, realm ranks, keep data, etc online that you could view and sort through all day every day. The Armor is like the WoW Armory feature.

Too few MMOs these days have a strong web presence for seeing your stuff. CU will not have that problem.

So what's the WOW Armory feature? We don't all live in Azeroth ...

I remember the Herald now! I remember watching the early stages of that one allaince-wide RvR event I led, following the early keep-taking from work in the afternoon, and the late keep-losing the following morning. Good times.

DAoC also had a cool feature where a lot of the stats of the game (all the public details on classes and abilities) were published in XML form on the website for fansites to use. And that was before REST was a thing - now it would be even easier. I hope CU also goes down that path, I could have some fun with that (I need to do an XML-to-wiki-format converter for some of my own stuff anyhow, it's simple enough).

That is my Death Knight in WoW. Everything on that page was published automatically, and is available via XML so sites like WoW-Head can pull it in.

So what I'm hoping for is something like a combination of the Camelot Herald and WoW Armory.

I didn't even think about that, Talo! I kinda took it for granted that we would have something like the WoW Armory. I'm with you on the hoping!!

True, I guess I still haven't found the game that I've loved as much as WoW, so therefore did not notice. My real "hopes" for the game is that they take their time and make it as awesome as possible. Although having an "armory" is something I'd really like too. So, yeah....awesomeness!!

DDO used to. But it was hard. And Turbine just gave up. They were the Little Engine That Couldn't.. "I think I can I think I can I think ... aww, who am I kidding".

They still have a piece of it up.. but it doesn't work well anyhow.
