Voyage:

Mirtul14th Ship sailed from DragonRest to Port Llast
Roxy below deck, with Django, Sofjia and Edu chatting above deck
Mirtul 15th is quiet
Mirtul 16th Another ship is seen to the south, heading away towards Port Llast, where the ship just came from.
Mirtul17th is quiet.
Mirtul18th arrived at Luskan, at White Sails Harbor.


Luskan, at White Sails Harbor dock:
Arrival Midday on the 18th

-The party: Sofjia, Django, Fiadh and Edu disembark the ship to find a gnome awaiting at the docks looking for them. The gnome is Dimbel and he was instructed to meet the party arriving from Dragon's Rest aswell as his old friend Melro. However Melro is not immediately found, as he is currently perched as a alley cat observing the new comers till he can confirm they are the Adventurers General Varnoth had sent.

-Sofjia stops at the the herbalist booths and picks through their herbs. (prickly pear cactus extract 1gold) infuse with hops should make a interesting brew. She also replaces a lost javelin.
-Django haggles for 2 daggers and a hand crossbow, along with its bolts.

-Melro identifies a Half Orc and Drow, casing the market patrons, and at one point the drow uses thieves cant and the half orc leaves. The two suspicious characters have matching symbols on their shoulder armor, but it cannot be made out from the current distance.

-Group insists on staying over night after the long voyage, so Melro leads them to the seven sails inn. The party clocked 4 or 5 potential ruffians following the party. Melro took the party down some side streets till they safely arrived at the inn.

-Drinks and conversation took place about General Varnoth, before the party retired to their rooms. Django sets alarm spells on his doors and windows. Dimbel placed a grease spell in front of his interior door.

-A sound in the night awakes both Django and Dimbel, whom have adjacent rooms. Their spells have not gone off and no one is in their room. Neither noticed anything additional out of the ordinary and went back to sleep, and the long rest was successful.

(longrest) Mirtul19th

-Shortly after leaving the inn, the same dressed men from the night before seem to be flanking the party at the early hour.
-The wizards see another group coming up from behind. They are close enough to make out the symbol on their clothing. Which is a emblem of a circle with 8 arrows going outward, the center pointing down is longer and larger, all over a sun. The same symbol was on the sail of a ship that was parked out in the bay when arriving in Luskan.

-Once we made it to the North Gate, the suspicious crewmen had vanished again.
-Two fully loaded wagon equipped with drivers await our instructions.

January 10, 2023 - Session 2

DM Koram - Level 4

Arrived at White Sail Harbor in Luskin. D'Jango, EdU, Fiadh and Sofija disembarked and met up with Dimbel and Mel'ro. As the group explored Luskin, they started to notice that there were a lot of people dressed in matching leather armor. The armor featured a symbol of chaos on the breast. They also noticed that some of these armored troops seemed to be following them. The group ducked into the Inn that they were staying at for the night; none followed them into the establishment so they settled in for the night.

In the morning they headed for the stables and arranged for transport. Mel'ro stayed behind to see if they were still being followed. Sofija rode up front by the driver in the first wagon with EdU and Mel'ro riding in the back. Fiadh rode up front by the driver in the second wagon with D'jango and Dimbel riding in the back. As the group head out, Mel'ro and Fiadh notice a group of hooded figures follow them to the edge of town. They have symbols on their cloaks which Mel'ro and Fiadh recognize as having seen before. The symbol was a flag on a ship in the harbor. As the wagons leave the town, the hooded group stops, silently watching before turning back towards Luskin. The group have 4 to 5 days of travel before reaching their destination.

Being it is springtime, the roads are well kept. Fresh blooms line the trail; birds are heard in the distance. Mel'ro wildshapes into a fox and slips ahead, looking for potential trouble as the group heads east to Blackford Road. Mel'ro returns as the sun sets, shifting out of wildshape and joining the party as it sets up for the night. Sofija, EdU and Mel'ro volunteer for the nights watch, which is uneventful. In the morning, the group cooks a meal to break the evening's fast. Fiadh, full from the morning's rations, stretch's and let's out a happy belch to which Sofija matches. The party packs up and hits the trail, traveling in the same formation as the first day.

They make respectable progress before stopping for the night. They set up camp and set watch. At around 9pm, Sofija hears horses coming from the direction of Mirabar. The riders slow up and one of them approaches Sofija, asking who we were and what was our business. The riders are 3 humans, one half elf, one halfling and one half orc. The one that approached Sofija explains that they are a patrol. He is carrying a harpoon for a weapon. He explains that a lot of the marines had been conscripted to fight, which would explain why they were heavily armed. He introduced himself as Harpoon. Dimbel woke and began making coffee for the patrol. At his invitation, the patrol dismount. Impressively, their mounts stay where they are without having to be secured. The group join them around the fire, gratefully sipping the bitter brew. The leader explains that they are into the trade business rather than piracy. Dimbel, Sofija and EdU do not detect any ill well from them and D'Jango invites them to travel with the party. The patrol are going the opposite way so they regretfully decline. They tell the party that the humanoids have gotten bolder and more abundant and that they appear to be coming from the north. They caution the party about going off the road as no one patrols there and that they are only responsible for the road. They also share that trade with Mirabel has been going well. Mel'ro asked about the symbol that they had seen in Luskin. The head patrolman explained that it was a symbol of The Dusk League. They appeared to have several ships and that they were not pirates. They had not broken any laws so they were just watching them as their growing numbers were a concern. Dimbel asked about the road to Mirabar and whether their had been any trouble. The patrolman explained that their had been a few instances but it was basically safe, as long as travelers stuck to the main road. The patrol finish their coffee and prepare to leave. Mel'ro tries to tip them but they decline and leave. The rest of the night is quiet.

In the morning, the group get up with the sunrise and pack up. Dimbel sends his familiar, a hawk named Tagalong or Tag for short, out in front of us as the party loads up the wagons and heads out. Upon request, Fiadh pulls out a small lute which she had made herself, and plucks out a familiar tune. She begins to sing a bawdy tune which causes Sofija to laugh and join in. Dimbel's familiar alerts him to something coming up. As they round a bend, they come upon the remains of a large bonfire. They stop to investigate and find bones amid the ashes which they surmise to be unlucky travelers. There are embers among the bones and ashes leading them to believe that the fight appeared to be quite recent. Mel'ro finds a set of tracks headed north. Because of their size and shape he surmises that it is an Orc footprint. They appear to have come down the trail with another set going back north. Other than that, nothing of value is found. Anything of value appears to have been taken by whomever ambushed this unfortunate party. Mel'ro tells the group that we are now in Orc country and to be on guard from this point forward. Fiadh stows the lute and cautiously hums to herself.

At about 4, the party stop for the night. As they are setting up camp, Tagalong returns and shows Dimbel images of something burning. Dimbel faintly smells wood smoke and notices a thin sliver of smoke to the northeast. The smoke does not have the odor of food. Once he points it out, everyone can see it and there doesn't appear a way to get to it. They decide against a fire and everyone eats cold rations. Mel'ro reminds the party of what the patrol said and that it's probably Orcs or Goblins. Dimbel sends Tagolong out to where the fire is. Sofija tries to find an animal to talk to.

Tagalong returns and Dimbel can see a small clearing with man made items laying around it. The campfire is still smoldering. Mel'ro suggests traveling on foot as he suspects an ambush. We leave the wagons with the driver's guarding them. The group will act as bait. Mel'ro wildshaped into a fox and scouts ahead for whomever is laying in wait for the party. D'Jango casts Mage Armor on himself while the rest of the group prepares for whatever lays in wait. EdU readies his wand and the group continues on foot. About 150 feet ahead they see a trail leading north. They return to the wagons as night draws near. They set the watch with D'Jango going first, Dimbel second and Mel'ro third.

During his watch, D'Jango hears someone yelling towards the north. The sound is maybe 1/2 mile away. As he thinks about it, he can't tell if its animal or human. When they change watch, D'Jango tells Dimbel about the noise that he heard. During Dimbel's watch all is quiet. He relays the information to Mel'ro as they change watch.

It is now the 21st. The party awakens and eats a cold breakfast. They estimate that they should reach Blasingdell by mid day. Dimbel casts Mage Armor before leaving and they party sets out. Dimbel sends Tagalong out and Mel'ro scouts out ahead of the group. After awhile, Tagalong returns and shows Dimbel a bridge up ahead with 3 humanoid figures on the far side. Mel'ro reaches the bridge and notes that it is about 10 feet wide and is made out of stone. The water running underneath is shallow and easily wadeable. He also sees the 3 humanoids on the far side, 2 of which are Orcs with the 3rd being something he doesn't recognize. As he turns to leave the 3 beings spot him and begin to gesture in his direction. Mel'ro runs back to let the party know.

The party reaches the bridge and enter into a skirmish with the 2 Orc's and the unidentified! EdU strikes first, casting Ray of Frost and clips one of the Orcs. Mel'ro fires off an arrow and lands a solid hit on one of the Orcs. Fiadh tries to use her light crossbow and misses, causing her to curse. As the curse leaves her lips, another Orc appears, this one dangerously close to the group. The Orc charges EdU wielding a great axe! Fiadh casts Silvery Barbs which fills the attacking Orc with indecision and it stops in it's tracks. Fiadh gives Advantage to Sophia. One of the Orcs advances over the bridge and throws a javalin at EdU, hitting him for a solid 7. The large, unidentified creature moves up and throws a javalin at Fiadh for 8. Sofia, having advantage, goes after the closest Orc. She rages with Crusher, trying to move the Orc away from EdU. She critical hits for an ungodly 18, moving it 5 feet in the air and causing it's head to explode in a shower of blood, brains and bone!

Dimbel casts Grease on the large creature but the creature easily shrugs it off. To the south, another Orc appears and charges Fiadh, swinging an axe which hits her for 10. D'Jango casts Hold Person on the large creature but it doesn't work. He then changes position. The second Orc across the river then runs across the bridge joining the first Orc. It throws a javalin at EdU but misses. Another Orc runs out into the open, yelling something. Sofija immediately drops to her hands and knees, groveling and fearful.

The session ends for the night!

Base of Mountain "StoneTooth"

-smoke (bonfire or camp fire) from smaller peak
-2 orcs up the trail.
-7 rations 2 water skins each.

-invisible for one hour, on Sofijia and Melro.

-Sofijia kicks one orc off the cliff as melro distracts it with a flea infestation
-the 2nd orc runs and shouts for help into the cave.

-the chase is on

-more chasing

-doors begin to close.
-melro turns into a panther and pounces one of them.
-room is revealed with a long bridge and 2 orcs throwing javelins across the rift.
-rest of group makes it to the initial cave entrance.

-2 more orcs from across the bridge join the party and throw javelins.
-the casters are getting pelted by arrows from the murder holes in the cavern walls.
-orc 1 killed by sof

Session 8
2023/02/20

all present

The battle for the bridge continues as Django levitates the Orc Old Yarrack up into the air as he finally makes it over the bridge. The large figure on the far side shouts for his Allies to retreat and get ready. Causing a impending doomed feeling for our own party which causes them all to retreat. The big guy yells again "rog and rog you better be ready, Yarrack die well” and falls back.

The party regroups in the next room and a moment later a Thump is heard at the door. Seconds later arrow begin shooting for the murder holes, the orcs had retaken the entrance.

The group leaves the mountain to find a place to camp in the forest, but they don’t find peace as orc search parties begin coming out of the mountain and the party is forced to travel some hours to the west before completing their long rest.

Mirtul the 27th

With the long rest completed Melro tracks a stream some 5mi due west of Stonetooth mt, the current is to strong for moving up river, and remains of the orc battle tells us that the stream does flow from the mountain.

Session 9
2023/02/27
all present

The party continues back towards the North end of the Stonetooth Mountain. They hear a horn blowing far to the south and decide to begin looking for a back entrance into the stronghold. The find hunting trails and signs of dire wolves that patrol the area.

Eventually a old trail leads to boulders that have had some worked stone and the party uncovers a long hidden cave tunnel. Inside caverns open up where Troglodytes have made a home. The creatures are vicious and territorial and do not welcome visitors. Django comfortable with the Darkeness and equipped with invisibility takes off to explore that area.

End the session at level 5.

After the battle with the Troglodyte entrance guards Dimbel heads to the South tunnels where Django had previously scouted. Into the mushroom caverns he inspecting a dwarven skeleton and takes the gleaming longsword from its hand. Spores fill the air poisoning him. (smith mark of Durgeddin the black). Dimbel continues south, away from the party coughing up a storm, finding a another lump on the ground, a larger humanoid with fancy helmet on the remains.

Once Dimbel returns liking extra unwell, Sofjia wraps, a wet cloth around her face and holds her breath, entering the spore room pulling to pull the helmet free. The spores erupt the precautions help her from breathing in the toxins but the spores land on her skin and eyes, and the poisons take hold.

After a short rest at the river and a good rinse of the spore the party heads to the room south, The room is full of stone coffins. Fiadh walks around the room reading dwarven names off each coffin, while django casts detect magic walking with her.

Borgol the Old, Gharin Orc-Doom, and Numik the Unlucky. These 3 have ruins carved into them, warning not to defile their resting place. Troglodytes sneak in while the party is distracted with what might be in the sarcophaguses. Once defeated that seals are broken

Borgol the Old
-(dwarven remains, plain robes, right hand a gold ring (dragon holding its tail in its mouth))
Gharin Orc-Doom
-dwarven remains, plain robes, warhammer with the (smith mark of Durgeddin the black)
Numik the Unlucky.
-dwarven remains, plain robes, missing right arm. knee down he has a wooden leg.
