Update: Just got back from my follow-up from my colonoscopy and he said that I'm going to need the surgery since it's flared up again. Going to schedule a CT scan to check the damage and schedule a surgery based on those results. Will have a good chunk of my lower intestine on my left side taken out and the rest re-attached. Will have more details once the results come back.

That doesn't sound good :-( Sorry to hear things aren't improving, I hope you can at least have the surgery soon so that you can start your recovery. Best wishes, and take care of yourself!

OK. Since I hadn't heard from the surgeon still, I contacted the doctor who said I should go ahead and go to the ER for antibiotics IV and the surgeon will come by and take a look. So heading to the hospital now.

Back home! Was supposed to be home Friday but the surgeon never wrote the prescription I needed before they could release me so spent an extra day at the hospital. Can't say I'm feeling better though as I think my body has built up an immunity to the cocktail of antibiotics they usually give. Good news though is so long as things don't get worse, they should be able to do it with minimum invasive surgery with robotics meaning should only be in the hospital for a day or two and about 1 month recovery as opposed to a 9 month recovery if things don't improve.

Since Wednesday I've been in the hospital following surgery for what was thought to be a hernia only to find out it was an abscess from my diviticulitis. Hope to go home tomorrow once we get some home social service set up as I have a wound from the surgery. Will be staying with my parents for about 1 to 2 weeks so will be a while before I'll be on. Miss everyone and save some ale for me :)

The big day is almost here. Tuesday at 5:30 a.m. I'll be in the hospital for the main surgery which will be at 7:30. It's scheduled for 4 hours not including post-op recovery. Don't know how long I'll be in the hospital afterwards, anywhere on average between 1 to 3 days. Then about 1 month or so at home recovering if everything goes according to plan.
