PuG players on Tuesday Night

Post by Tundrra »

Heya folks I just wanted to pose a question for our raid night players.

At the moment we have a pretty consistent group of 6 players on Tuesday and 7 if Gilenrod starts joining us.

For those last 1 or 2 spots do you want me to reach out to a couple guilds we have a good relationship with and find us some regulars fillers?

Basically I would like for us get a well balanced group and not to heavy in Melee or ranged DpS. I feel a lot of our unsuccessful raids are when we pug for players and get way unbalanced. Also now that we have some fresh 50s raiding with us we should be getting geared fairly quickly so we can start advancing past these 2 starter Operations and having a group that is comfortable with each others play style will make things easier:)

If we go this route I need to know which class everyone wants to concentrate on, I know several of you have alts now that are 50 so let's decide which will be your main Raider. I'm sure there will be nights that we will still need to find a filler and on those nights those with alts can switch around as long as we stay balanced:)

Tank - Zyera Vanguard
Tank -
Melee DpS - Gildenrod Sentinel
Melee DpS - Valikk' Shadow
Range DpS - Burley - Commando
Range DpS - Riveni - Commando
Heal -
Heal - Tundrra Commando

I hope to begin doing this soon and will be limited to a Melee DPS role for a while until I get another character worked up to 50. (what is the most needed at the moment?)

I doubt I will be able to make it tonight as I am chained to my desk for work for the next few days. I am seriously not even sure if I will be getting sleep. That is not a joke nor an exaggeration.

As for the question about reaching out to guilds we are friendly with, I know that worked well for us on WoW. But I do not know the history of the branch or its allies so I will abstain from commenting on this.

My Sage is 31 (almost 32) and I do want to raid with her (she will be heals). I would gladly tank as much as needed, but healing is something I did in WoW for years and loved it. ^^

I also don't mind having friends come in and join us that are not in NOR. :)

After everyone chimes in on what they plan on playing will give us a better idea which classes we will need:)

We have not made any Official alliances in swtor, however as the branch leader I have talked to a handful of other branch leaders and there are a couple that we are pretty compatible with:)

My preference at this time would be to play my DPS characters (Shadow for melee, Commando for ranged). My Shadow is actually the best geared character I have, being in full Tionese or better. I am also most comfortable playing the DPS characters, followed closely by tanks. My experience with healers has been pretty limited over the years and am not as comfortable with playing them, though I think I have done fairly well with my Scoundrel here. As Zyera brings up her healer, I can assume some of the tanking as needed with my Guardian, though this character is the lowest geared of the four at the moment.

So, to summarize, my preference would be to play, in order: Riveni (Shadow DPS); Haladin (Commando DPS); Chrysolyn (Guardian Tank); Syrynx (Scoundrel Healer). However, I am okay with playing whatever we need at a given time.

Of course the down side to doing this is we meet fewer folks who could become prospective members this way. Just a thought.

I used to think the same, when we first started the Endgame nights, i had high hopes that we would find lvl 50 characters looking for a home. However over the last 6months of running the endGame Night i cant think of a single time we had a non-guilded member in the group:(

The best luck i have had finding players has been mid/low lvl Flashpoints and the swtor.com server Forum boards.

Yeah the same tends to be true in DDO. It is very tough to recruit from a pool of high level players as almost all are already in a guild.

I can picture a world without war, a world without hate.
And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

At the rate I am going, I am not sure how much longer I am going to be playing this game. Dropping to desktop 3-4 times a night is getting old, especially when it usually means I come back with a mouthful of dirt and a free ride to the nearest medcenter. I am trying a repair for the second time but I am not holding out alot of hope for this thing. Will have to see.
