We can do that.

We are currently somewhere between $410 and $460, based on the variable amounts some people posted.

Just an FYI to any interested parties. The Camelot Unchained Kickstarter ends on May 2nd at 11:56am eastern.

To do a group NOR donation, we have to have the money committed, and donated to NOR in full before that. We can't expect the non-profit to make a donation of funds if they haven't received all of our pledges. So here, are the dates I think are appropriate. Anybody wishing to make a contribution to the group NOR donation, needs to verbalize that contribution by Wednesday, April 17th. If we aren't at $600 we'll call it done, and everybody who wants to should go ahead and contribute as an individual to the kickstarter as you see fit. If we have enough verbal commitments, then everybody needs to get their donation to the NOR non-profit by Monday, April 22nd. Then NOR can make the group donation by May 2nd.

I don't know the workings of the non-profit well enough to say how best to get them the funds, or what to do if not everybody who commits actually pays.

Breakdown:
  • Wednesday, April 17: Deadline for verbal pledges to the NOR guild donation.
  • Monday, April 22: Deadline to transfer funds to the NOR non-profit.
  • Wednesday, May 1: Deadline for NOR non-profit to contribute to the Kickstarter.
Maybe one of the trustees can fill us in on the specifics of contributing to the non-profit.

PayPal is the easiest way to send money to NOR.

However, Kickstarter only accepts credit cards, which, believe it or not, NOR has, but it will require additional time to move the money from PayPal to the NOR bank account to cover the charge. The charge will only occur if the project is funded, but you should factor another 5-7 business days to move money from PayPal to the account.

In other words, you want all of the money intended to go to the Kickstarter campaign in the PayPal account by April 23rd.

Based on that, I'm going to amend my dates and move the calendar up. Also a consequence of PayPal will be the transaction fee. If donations come in at exactly $600, how much of that would be lost to the PayPal gods?

Our account has a fee rate of 2.9%, so in order to send $600 clear, you need to add $17.91
