Klok was the pride and joy of her parents Snygg and Sot, and the oldest of their two children, the other being Coxxo. An Asuran progeny being among the youngest to win the Young Engineering Award for her mini transforming thaumaturgic accelerator and one of the youngest to enter the College of Dynamics, among other recognitions. Due to Klok's quickly accumulating accolades, much was expected of their youngest daughter Coxxo. They expected Coxxo to follow in her sister's footsteps and be another progeny, however failure after failure followed Coxxo in every attempt. Her parents soon began to distance themselves from her as well, viewing her as a total failure and a black stain on their family. As a result, Coxxo began to withdraw into herself. This withdrawal led her to become interested in the more arcane and "darker" aspects of the Eternal Alchemy which she felt much more comfortable with and showed her where her true talents lay. Coxxo knew her sister and her parents would never approve of such studies so she ran away at the age of 15 in search of a krewe who would accept her.
In the intervening 6 years, Coxxo is still in hiding. Snygg and Sot have renounced her and given her up for dead. Klok though feels that she is partly to blame for her sister running away as she was too wrapped up in all the praise, and her inventions, to pay much attention to her younger, misunderstood sister. Now with Snygg and Sot suffering from poor health, Klok feels she needs to go out in search of her sister and hope to bring the family together before it's too late.
