I think Cybeard is almost ready for a gear check for the progression group. I have all 14 slots Augmented with Purples, 180 chestpiece, earpiece, main (180 hilt and enhancement) and offhand, and the rest is 168 gear with a few 162s for the set bonus, and both Obroan relics. From my understanding all I'm really missing is my 4-set. I just need the helm, then I'll have it. Can someone let me know if I'm close or not, or what I need to get? I looked around and couldn't find anything on tank requirements. I've been working pretty hard to get the gear I need, as I really want to be a part of the Empire progression group for Sundays.

I'll have David write up a more detailed requirements and have him look at your gear. You need his OK before getting put on the list.

Man, I really thought I was getting close. I think swapping out those 168s for 162s to get the set bonus really hurt my stats quite a bit. According to my calc. I have a budget of 1987 as it stands:

Def = 806
Shield = 715
Abs = 466
Budget = 1987

I think I need alot more absorption, 466 seems a bit low, but I don't really know what it should be either. Guess I'll keep grinding comms. :-\

1987 is not bad Beardy. You're getting close. You just now need the next step which is underworld armor, that'll get you to that 2200. Hopefully we can get some runs in where that gear drops.....TFB & SNV HM.

So for defense rating, absorb and shield, you should use the tables here:

On my tank I dont have multiple gear sets, so I use the table for that.

But as you get into hm you will need a shield set and an absorb set. Because depending on the boss you need either absorb or shield heavy armor.

Pay attention to the tables or you might end up wasting credits on augments you don't need.

Let me know if you have any questions. David is the expert but I have learned a little as I am learning my tank toon.

Hoping to get Tewdrig ready. He's far from it, though I am working on it along with Jiangnu for melee and ranged DPS respectively. Tewdrig just has the 2-piece bonus ATM, and is lacking a hilt (currently only a 140) and augs though everything else is 156 ~ 162s. He does have the Obroan Relics with strength augs now.
