Highlights

  • Item Rating Display – A new addition has been made to the character sheet which displays your average item rating. This will help a player determine their overall power level. Additionally, the new Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint has a minimum item rating requirement to queue for in group finder.
General
  • The amount of damage which is shielded will now be displayed in the combat log as intended.
  • Corrected an issue where the player would be unable to interact with a Stronghold hook while using a filter in the decoration UI.
  • The Manaan Stronghold is now properly set as a rest area.
  • The Conquest Objective “Critical Missions: Galactic Flashpoints” now correctly states that it requires Veteran Flashpoints. The objective has not changed, this change addressed a typo.
  • The Guild interface will no longer jump to the top of the list if a member note or rank is adjusted.
  • Accidentally entering a space as the first character in the decoration UI will no longer stop the search from returning results.
  • Companions can now be summoned while moving.
  • A new option has been added to the Graphics preference menu for higher graphics settings called “Enhanced Shadows” which will improve the realism of contrast and shadows.

  • Sanguinary Shot now costs 10 Energy and deals 14.29% more damage
Imperial Agent

Concealment
  • Acid Blade's damage has been reduced by 27.78%
  • Collateral Strike's damage has been reduced by 27.68%

Lethality
  • Corrosive Assault weapon damage has been increased by 13.97% but it no longer triggers Toxic Blast damage
  • Corrosive Assault no longer deals additional damage per poison effect. Instead, Corrosive Assault weapon damage now triggers additional damage from your periodic poison effects
  • Toxic Blast now costs 10 Energy and deals 14.29% more damage
Trooper

Vanguard
  • The “Strategic Supremacy” utility will now properly root enemies that have been revealed by Stealth Scan.
  • The “Paralytic Augs” utility will now properly adjust the stun duration of Neural Surge and Cryo Grenade.
Flashpoints + Operations + Uprisings

Flashpoints
  • Gear dropped from some Flashpoint bosses will now be appropriate to the level of the character who looted it as intended.
Operations
  • The adds which spawn during the Bestia encounter in Dread Palace no longer award experience points when killed.
Uprisings

Trial and Error
  • The door leading to Alirra Semhess will now open as intended.
Items + Economy
  • The Ambient Machine Stronghold decorations will now play sound effects when they are interacted with.
  • Multiple Stronghold decorations have had their Valor Requirement removed.
  • Corrected an issue where a Free-to-play player is able to equip a color crystal that requires Artifact Authorization, which then made the weapon unusable for that player.
  • The Iokath Superweapon Prototype decoration will now continue to spin once it has been placed in a hook.
  • The Stronghold decorations from the Dread Warlord Pack can now be purchased for Guilds.
  • The Stronghold decoration “ALREADY SOLD!” has been hidden from the Stronghold interface since it is not available in game, it is already sold…
  • Color crystals and weapon tunings which have been account unlocked can now be moved through Legacy Weapons.
  • Multiple typos have been fixed in the Deepwater Essentials Bundle description.
  • Corrected an issue where the visual effect for Laze, Snipe, and Lethal Shot would not activate with certain sniper rifles.
Missions + NPCs
  • The Unassembled Component rewards from various PvP Missions have been adjusted:
    • Unranked Daily Mission: Now rewards 10 Components, down from 12.
    • Unranked Weekly Mission: Now rewards 54 Components, up from 40.
    • Ranked Solo Daily: Now rewards 15 Components, down from 16.
    • Ranked Solo Weekly: Now rewards 100 Components, up from 30.
    • Ranked Group Daily: Now rewards 30 Components, up from 20.
    • Ranked Group Weekly: Now rewards 200 Components, up from 60.
Warzones

Novare Coast
  • Corrected an issue where a Sith Warrior or Jedi Knight who used Force Charge or Force Leap near one of the turrets could get stuck in the terrain.

Hey folks,

I apologize for the late notice on this. We are going to delay the launch of Game Update 5.4 by 24 hours. Crisis on Umbara's maintenance will now be on Wednesday, 8/23 at the same time as the originally planned maintenance (5AM - 9AM PDT).

As we do with all updates, we continually test until it goes out the door. From this testing we discovered a critical bug with the Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint. This bug can prevent a substantial amount of gameplay when a player experiences it, from not playing the intro cinematic to not allowing re-entry into the instance. Due to the severity of the bug, we are not comfortable releasing the Game Update in its current state.

I will go ahead and updated the messaging in both this thread and the launcher to reflect the new maintenance window. Again, we do apologize for the late notice and thank you for your patience.
Other scheduled stuff will still happen tomorrow. Operation lock outs will reset as usual and the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event will still end. If you've got any tokens left, use 'em now since it's not guaranteed that the event will return next year!

Ok, as I write this patch day is now THURSDAY! Fingers crosses that they work out the kinks in time!

Also, the Nightlife event will keep going until the patch. However, the Gree event did start as scheduled.

I don't have time to transcribe it all but there is a lot of info and it's worth a look.

The big news is that Server merges are coming at the end of October. Ebon Hawk will be merged with the other East Coast servers into a new server called "Star Forge."

In November the story will continue with a new flashpoint and the next boss in the Gods From the Machine operation.

Along the way there will be additional rewards for just logging in, as well as participating in group activity. The big one will be that Darth Hexid will be available to players! The requirements seem to be simply queuing for either PVE or PVP group activity. We will absolutely help anyone who wants earn this companion get it!

It looks like they are working on other quality of life improvements to daily areas, Command XP, increasing the stronghold cap to 8, and even new maps for PVP and Starfighter.

Server merges always make me nervous. I'm still sad about some names I lost when Ebon Hawk absorbed Shien. I think the community on Ebon Hawk is wonderfully chill and I hope we don't lose that, but mergers have been necessary for a while. I pity anyone who starts a character on Jung Ma.

Highlights
  • Double Rewards is back! Receive double experience, Command experience, and more from October 10th – October 17th.
Cartel Market
  • The Cartel Market has had its User Interface improved. In addition to a new look, there is also expanded functionality including filters and search. Starting with Shipment 10, each pack opened increases the chance of receiving a platinum item.
General
  • In preparation for United Forces, the server select interface has been updated to only show five servers at a time. If a player needs to access a server which is not displayed, the scroll wheel will move through the list. Servers are displayed by last used, number of characters, and server name.
  • In preparation for United Forces, the maximum Stronghold cap has been increased to 10.
  • The Stronghold completion bonus for Conquests is now totaled from all active Strongholds. The bonus cap remains 150%.
  • A change has been made to the introduction cinematics for all Strongholds to make them consistent. All Strongholds will play the cinematic the first time the player zones into them on a character. A terminal has been added to all Strongholds so that a player can re-watch the intro. These changes do not affect Guild Strongholds.
  • Taxi points have been added to the Yavin 4 and Tatooine Strongholds to make traveling across them easier.
  • Addressed an issue where some players Conquest objectives would not reset properly.
  • Completing a Daily Bonus Activity now grants 200% bonus alignment (up from 150%).
  • The Dark vs Light pop-up which indicates the status of the war now appears every 90 minutes (up from 30).
  • When one side wins the Dark vs Light war, the victory state now lasts 18 hours (up from 1 hour).
  • New Achievements have been added for gaining Command Rank 300 with each Class.
  • New Achievements have been added for killing other players on Iokath while in other forms, such as piloting a Walker.
  • The “Commanding Legacy” perk has been modified to allow a player to get a 25% CXP bonus for each character they have in their Legacy at Command Rank 300. This buff stacks up to 100%.

  • Utility points will no longer reset upon logging in to certain Classes.
  • Creature Companions that use the ability “Power Swipe” will no longer interrupt enemies that have Boss Immunity.

  • Magnifying Vibrations now gives Project a 35% damage increase when the enemy is affected by Mind Crush, up from 20%

  • During the Toth and Zorn encounter, players can no longer right click to remove the stun effect.
Galactic Starfighter

There are a ton of changes to Starfighter and I just don't have the time to format them all. If you're curious, definitely check out the full patch notes!

Items + Economy
  • The Lieutenant Iresso Customization 9 will now appear under the Companion Customization sub-category of the GTN as intended.
  • Corrected an issue where the Manta Landspeeder (Red) was not unlocking its Stronghold decoration when the vehicle was unlocked.
  • The Manta Landspeeder (Red) and Manta Landspeeder (Blue) are now affected by the Improved Speeder Piloting perks as intended.
  • A Companion Customization vendor has been added to the Cartel Bazaar on both fleets. This vendor sells opposing Faction Companion Customizations. Ex: The Republic vendor will sell Customizations for Vette.
  • The Command Crate slot which previously had a chance to only roll Schematics has been changed. That slot now has a chance to rewards Schematics, Command XP boosts, Command XP consumables, Grand Chance Cubes, and item modifications from Galactic Command gear. The chance of this slot appearing in a Command Crate has been greatly improved.
  • The price for purchasing temporary abilities (such as the Portable Stealth Generator) and vehicle controls (such as the Walker) on Iokath have been reduced.
  • The amount of Iokath Shards a player receives for exchanging crafting materials has been increased.
  • New Stronghold Decorations have been added for purchase on the Iokath Reputation vendors.
  • Two new Arcann Companion customizations have been added to the Dark vs Light vendors. One each for Dark and Light respectively.
Missions + NPCs
  • It is no longer possible to kill the bridge crew before the appropriate Mission step on the Jedi Knight Mission “Uphrades.”
  • The “Fair Play Enforcer” Mission is now only accessible during the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event.
  • The Mouse Droid now does more damage during the Mission “The Meek and the Mighty.”
  • Lowered the respawn time for the Black Sun Forces needed for The Face Merchants Heroic Mission on Coruscant.
  • The Command XP Mission rewards for the following areas have been corrected:
    • Czerka
    • Oricon
    • Black Hole
    • Yavin 4
    • Section X
    • Ziost
Warzones

General
  • Bolster in Warzones now raises a character’s item rating to 242, up from 238.

With the United Forces server mergers coming in just over two weeks, Bioware has announced that they will be suspending character server transfers as of Tuesday October 24. In addition, they've also said that once transfers come back, the 90cc sale price that has been in effect for the last year or so will be ending.

So this weekend is your last chance to take advantage of cheap transfers. If you've got a character on a West Coast server you'd like to have on Star Forge, now is the best time to move them

Not a lot of action here, which is probably a good thing. The main notes of interest is that the maximum number of character slots per server is being raised. Subs will get 24, Preferred 12, and Free-to-play 4. Folks who have a bunch of characters across the different merging servers should be able to hang on to more of them.

Keith Kanneg posted on the forums today that he expects them to need all of the 12 hours they have allotted for the patch, but reassured us that he expects everything to go smoothly.

If you've logged in since the patch you will have noticed that your UI and chat settings have been reset.

If you're like me and would like to restore things exactly to how they were set before you can! Here is a simple guide to importing your old character settings from the old server to the new:

  • The Activities Window – The Group Finder interface has seen a huge overhaul! This includes repeatable rewards, bonuses for roles in need, along with unifying the group, Warzone, Galactic Star Fighter, and solo content into a single window.
  • The Master’s Datacron – Available for 2,000 Cartel Coins on the Cartel Market. This item will allow you to take any existing character and make them a level 70 character! The Datacron also includes a full set of level 70 gear so you can jump right into the action. This boost does not advance any story progress.
General
  • Due to the amount of changes being made to Group Finder, many group Missions will have their progress reset.
  • The Group Finder has been renamed to the Activities Window. It has received numerous updates:
    • Repeatable Rewards: For each PvE group activity, there is a repeatable reward when queuing for all available content. This reward is available after claiming the daily bonus for that category.
    • Role-In-Need: Certain group-enforced content will now give bonuses to roles in need. The goal is to provide that extra incentive to help bring groups together quicker. EX: There is a lack of healers in the Activities Window queue for Master Mode Flashpoints, so we will offer an extra bonus to any healers who queue for that activity.
    • Daily Rewards: For each PvE group activity there is a significant bonus to experience, credits, command experience and unassembled components. To be eligible for this reward you must queue for all available content.
    • Solo Window: All Heroics, Daily Areas, Events (When Eligible) and flashpoints can be easily queued from the new solo window.
    • Lockouts: We’ve redesigned the Operation lockout window to be more informative while cleaning up un-necessary duplication of data.
  • Characters across the galaxy now have an appropriate amount of sparkle in their eyes.
  • Solo activities such as Heroic Missions, Solo Flashpoints, and the Eternal Championship have been added to the Activities window. They will populate based on your character level.
  • Queuing for Ranked and Unranked Warzones will now happen via the Activities window.
  • The Galactic Command interface has been removed from the game. All queuing will happen via the Activities window or the Chapter launcher.
  • The rewards for completing content via the Activities window have been increased.
  • Corrected various issues related to searching in the Cartel Market.
  • Defeating Nahut has been added to the Gods from the Machine Objective for Conquests.
  • A new option has been added to the Preferences window, under User Interface > Cartel Market called Use Pack Viewer. This option is on by default. If the player turns it off, when a Cartel Market Pack is opened the items will be placed directly in your Item Stash without the pack viewer animation being played.

  • Precision is now stack-based with 2 stacks lasting up to 10 seconds; affecting Clashing Blast, Lance, Dispatch, Blade Rush, Blade Barrage, Force Sweep, and Cyclone Slash; and consuming a stack each time one of those abilities is used.
  • Precision grants an additional 3rd stack if used while Zen is active.
  • The triggered effect for Hand of Justice now lasts up to 18 seconds, up from 15.
Guardian
  • Gather Strength now applies its full damage bonus to Plasma Brand and Force Exhaustion, and is no longer consumed prematurely by a damage tick from a Focus-costing ability that deals damage over time.
  • The Whiplash utility has been replaced by a new utility: Stalwart Defense, which reduces the damage taken from area of effect attacks by 60% for 15 seconds after Challenging Call is used for the Vigilance and Focus disciplines, and reduces damage taken while stunned by 30% for the Defense discipline.
  • The Jedi Warden utility’s Guardian Leap-improving effects have been moved to the Thwart utility, and Jedi Warden now additionally immobilizes any target hit by a Saber Throw.
Vigilance
  • Commanding Awe no longer causes Challenging Call to provide protection against area of effect attacks.
Sith Warrior

Marauder

Carnage
  • Ferocity is now stack-based with 2 stacks lasting up to 10 seconds; affecting Devastating Blast, Gore, Vicious Throw, Massacre, Ravage, Smash, and Sweeping Slash; and consuming a stack each time one of those abilities is used.
  • Ferocity grants an additional 3rd stack if used while Berserk is active.
  • The triggered effect for Slaughter now lasts up to 18 seconds, up from 15.
Juggernaut

[*]Pooled Hatred now applies its full damage bonus to Shatter and Force Crush, and is no longer consumed prematurely by a damage tick from a Rage-costing ability that deals damage over time.
[*]The Whiplash utility has been replaced by Hardened Defense, which reduces the damage taken from area of effect attacks by 60% for 15 seconds after Threatening Scream is used for the Vengeance and Rage disciplines, and reduces damage taken while stunned by 30% for the Immortal discipline.
[*]The Thrown Gauntlet Utility’s Intercede-improving effects have been moved to the Reckoning utility, and Thrown Gauntlet now additionally immobilizes any target hit by Saber Throw.

    Telekinetic Balance now grants you a 10% armor bonus while your Rejuvenate is healing you.
Shadow
  • The Intangible Spirit utility has been redesigned and now reduces damage taken from area of effect attacks by 30% for the Infiltration and Serenity disciplines and reduces damage taken while stunned by 30% for the Kinetic Combat discipline.

  • Force Suppression stacks are now only consumed by your own periodic damage.
Infiltration
  • Kinetic Field no longer reduces damage taken from area of effect attacks by 30%.

Lightning
  • Convection now grants 5% damage reduction for Lightning Sorcerers while Deionized by anyone’s Static Barrier
Madness
  • Deathmark stacks are now only consumed by your own periodic damage, and only your periodic damage gains a damage benefit from your Deathmark.
    Madness (the passive skill) now grants you a 10% armor bonus while your Resurgence is healing you.
Assassin
  • The Formless Phantom utility has been redesigned and now reduces damage taken from area of effect attacks by 30% for the Deception and Hatred disciplines and reduces damage taken while stunned by 30% for the Darkness discipline.

Bounty Hunter

Mercenary
  • Trauma Regulators now heals for 4% per stack instead of 5% and stacks 10 times instead of 15.
  • The heal from Kolto Overload given by Kolto Surge can only heal the Mercenary up to 60% of their maximum health instead of 70%.
  • Trauma Regulators is a now a Heroic utility and Kolto Surge is now a Legendary utility.
Innovative Ordnance
  • Fusion Missile and Explosive Dart now spread both Incendiary Missile’s burn and Serrated Shot’s bleed effects.
Powertech
  • In addition to its other effects, the Hitman utility now reduces the damage taken from area of effect attacks by 30% for the Pyrotech and Advanced Prototype disciplines, and reduces the damage taken while stunned by 30% for the Shield Tech discipline.
Advanced Prototype
  • Stabilized Armor has been replaced by Prototype Armor, which increases damage reduction by 2% for 15 seconds each time the player is dealt critical damage, stacking up to 3 times.
Trooper

Commando
  • Trauma Stabilizers now heals for 4% per stack instead of 5% and stacks 10 times instead of 15.
  • The heal from Adrenaline Rush given by Adrenal Surge can only heal the Commando up to 60% of their maximum health instead of 70%.
  • Trauma Stabilizers is a now a Heroic utility and Adrenal Surge is now a Legendary utility.
Assault Specialist
  • Plasma Grenade and Sticky Grenade now spread both Incendiary Round’s burn and Serrated Bolt’s bleed effects.
Vanguard
  • In addition to its other effects, the Frontline Defense utility now reduces the damage taken from area of effect attacks by 30% for the Plasmatech and Tactics disciplines, and reduces damage taken while stunned by 30% for the Shield Specialist discipline.
Tactics
  • Shock Absorbers has been replaced by Tactical Armor, which increases damage reduction by 2% for 15 seconds each time the player is dealt critical damage, stacking up to 3 times.
Flashpoints + Operations + Uprisings
Flashpoints
  • The Command Experience earned from Hammer Station has been reduced in all difficulties to bring it in line with other Flashpoints time commitment.
  • The Ground Pound from the Vixian Mauler in Crisis on Umbara now has a description if a player mouses over the debuff.
Operations
  • The Unassembled Components earned for killing Operation bosses has been increased.
Galactic Starfighter
Component + Crew
  • The Ion Railgun area of effect now properly hits the intended radius.
  • Torpedo tooltips no longer incorrectly state that they are immune to missile breaks.
  • EMP Missile now does 50% damage to player ships as intended (down from 100%)
  • EMP Missile reload timer is now 10 seconds (up from 8)
  • EMP Field now has a cooldown of 45 seconds (up from 40 seconds)
Items + Economy
  • When adding an Augment slot to an item, the Augment Kit dropdown box will now sort by whichever kit the player has the highest quantity of.
  • Command Boosts that drop from Command Crates no longer have a restriction on what Command Ranks they apply to.
  • Items that are linked in chat will now show their rarity alongside their name.
  • Decorations have been added to the Mission reward for Solo-mode Flashpoints.
  • Two tiers of new augments have been added to the game:
    • Item rating 230 Artifact quality – Drop inside of the Copero Flashpoint.
    • Item rating 236 Legendary quality – These are crafted, schematics can be learned by the respective Crew Skill trainer.
  • Improved Disintegration - Disintegrating any item that contains stats in the Command Stash will now result in gaining Unassembled Components instead of Command Experience (CXP). All other items still disintegrate into CXP. We’ve made this change to allow for a more robust way of earning the Unassembled Components to upgrade equipment. This brings increased value to each Command Crate earned through gameplay.
  • The cost of all items on the Unassembled Component (UC) vendor has been increased. Note that the rate players earn UC from existing sources has also been increased at the same rate. This change is to account for the changes to disintegration.
  • The number of Unassembled Components that each player currently possesses has been increased by the same ratio as the cost increase noted above.
  • Unassembled Components are no longer found in the currency tab, instead they are a stackable, bind on legacy item in your inventory.
  • The Intermittent Iokath Conduit and Large Iokath Statue decoration will no longer show up in the decoration UI, as they are not currently available in the game.
  • Players can now deposit and withdraw credits from their Legacy Banks.
Warzones
  • The Unassembled Components earned for completing Warzones has been increased.
